私の新しい足

私は、ニューロパシーと言う神経系の病気にかかっています。
この病気の主な症状は足の痺れと痛みです。この病気のために私が一番困っている事は、伝道を妨げる影響です。ニューロパシーにかかる前、私は一日１００枚以上のチラシを配る事ができました。今は、チラシ配布をすると、足がとても痛くなるので、配れるのは、１００枚未満だけになってしまいます。

しかし、今年の５月に神様は私に新しい足を与えて下さいました。
今、小倉教会で私と一緒に働いているマイケル・ワイエット先生の足です。ワイエット先生は元気な若い宣教師ですから、毎週、彼はチラシを沢山配ります。
先日、二人でチラシ配布に行った時、ワイエット先生は１５０枚を配りました。
私は１００枚を配るつもりでしたが、７９枚を配った所で、足があまりにも痛くなったので、私は、残りの２１枚をワイエット先生に配ってもらいました。

ちょうどワイエット先生が私の足になっているように、一人ひとりのクリスチャンは神様の足になるべきです。

マルコの福音書16:15に
「全世界に出て行き、「全てのつくられたものに福音は宣べつたえなさい」と言われて、イエス様は天国に帰りました。

今、キリストは、この地上におられません。一人ひとりのクリスチャンは、神様の足となって、福音を宣べ伝えなければなりません。

「良いことの知らせを伝える人々の足は、なんとりっぱでしょう。」ローマ人への手紙10:15

Anne Johnson Flintによって書かれた詩があります。
GOD HAS NO HANDS
God has no hands but our hands to do his work today;
God has no feet but our feet to lead others in his way;
God has no voice but our voice to tell others how he died;
And, God has no help but our help to lead them to his side.

「今、神様には、他の人達を御自分に導くためには、私達の手と足と声しかありません」と言う意味です。

                                                                               

MY NEW FEET

I have a nervous system disease called neuropathy. The main symptoms of this disease are numbness and pain in the feet. The effect that this disease has had on my evangelism is what bothers me the most. Before I contracted neuropathy, I could distribute hundreds of flyers in one day. Now when I distribute flyers, my feet hurt so bad that I can distribute only about a hundred flyers.
However, in May of this year God gave me new feet. They are the feet of missionary Mike Wyatt who is working with me now at the Kokura church. He is an energetic, young missionary, so he distributes many flyers every week.
The other day when we distributed flyers together, he distributed 150 flyers. I intended to distribute 100 flyers, but after just 79 flyers my feet were hurting so bad that I had to quit. I had Mike distribute the remaining 21 flyers.
Just as Mike has become my feet, each Christian should become the feet of God. After Jesus said Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature in Mark 16:15,
He returned to heaven. Now Christ is not on this earth, so each Christian must become the feet of God and preach the gospel.
How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace. (Romans 10:15)
