聖書は、1600年の間に三つの大陸にいた40人の人達によって書かれた本です。
それになのに、聖書には、間違いも矛盾など一つもありません。

Ⅱペテロの手紙1:21はこの不思議な事を説明しています。
「預言は決して人間の意志によってもたらされたのではなく、聖霊に動かされた人たちが、神からのことばを語ったのだからです。」
すなわち、聖書の本当の著者は、神様です。

「聖書はすべて、神の霊感によるもので、教えと戒めと矯正と義の訓練とのために有益です。」Ⅱテモテへの手紙3:16
最初の聖書は章と節に分かれていませんでした。
13世紀にステファン・ラングトンと言う人が聖書を章に分けました。
15世紀に旧約聖書は、節に分けられました。新約聖書は16世紀に節に分けられました。

聖書には1,189章があります。詩篇117篇は一番短い章です。
2節しかありません。
「すべての国々よ。主をほめたたえよ。すべての民よ。主をほめ歌え。 その恵みは私たちに大きく、主のまことはとこしえに。ハレルヤ。 」

聖書には31,173節があります。ギリシャ語の聖書の一番短い節はⅠテサロニケ人への手紙5:17です。「絶えず祈りなさい。」
英語の聖書の一番短い節は、ヨハネの福音書11:35です。
「Jesus wept.」

日本語の聖書の一番短い説は、ルカの福音書20:30です。
「次男も、」

聖書の真ん中の節は、詩篇118:8です。
「主に身を避けることは、人に信頼するよりもよい。」

もちろん、私達は聖書を章と節に分けた人達が神様の霊感によってそれを行ったと信じていませんが、この節が聖書のちょうど真ん中になった事は非情に不思議な事です。

　　　　　
INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT THE BIBLE　

The Bible was written by 40 different people on three continents over a period of 1600 years. In spite of this, there is not one mistake or contradiction in the Bible. Second Peter 1:21 explains this amazing fact. Prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

In other words, the real author of the Bible is God. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

The first Bible was not divided into chapters and verses. In the 13th century a man named Stephen Langton divided the Bible into chapters.

The Old Testament was divided into verses in the 15th century and the New Testament in the 16th century.

There are 1,189 chapters in the Bible. Psalm 117 is the shortest chapter. It has only two verses. Praise the Lord, all you nations! Praise Him, all you people! For His merciful kindness is great toward us, and the truth of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord！

There are 31,173 verses in the Bible. In the Greek Bible the shortest verse is First Thessalonians 5:17. Pray without ceasing. In the English Bible the shortest verse is John 11:35. Jesus wept. In the Japanese Bible the shortest verse is Luke 20:30 Jinan mo, （次男も、）

The middle verse of the Bible is Psalm 118:8 It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. Of course, we do not believe that the men who divided the Bible into chapters and verses did so by the inspiration of God, but the fact that this passage is the middle verse in the Bible is indeed amazing.
