“ハニーガイド”という鳥

モザンビーク北部。ある男性が声を震わせて特殊な音を出します。それは、うなりの様な音です。
この音を英語で“brrr-hm”と書きます。
そうすると、その音を聞いて“ハニーガイド”と言う鳥が現れます。
この鳥は、蜂の巣を見つけるまで次から次へと木に飛び移ります。
蜂の巣を見つけると、鳥は蜂蜜を探している人を呼び求めます。
彼を巣の場所まで案内し、ごほうびに人間が取り出した蜂の巣をもらいます。鳥は蜂蜜ではなく、蜂の幼虫や卵のほうが大好物のようです。

また、タンザニヤで蜂蜜を探す人は“ハニーガイド”を呼ぶために美しい音楽の様な口笛を使います。
幸いな事で日本に住んでいる私達は、蜂蜜を食べたい時、蜂蜜を料理に必要な時、近くのスーパーマーケットに行けば、簡単に手に入れる事が出きます。鳥の手助けは、いりません。
しかし、蜂蜜を多く摂取すると太る可能性があります。
なぜなら、１カップ（339g)の蜂蜜に1,031㎈があるからです。

教会の牧師は“ハニーガイド”と言う鳥に似ています。
彼は聖書の中にある“蜂蜜”を教会員に導きます……。
牧師の勧めに従うクリスチャンは、蜂蜜よりおいしいものを見つける事が出来ます。

詩篇19:10によると、神様の言葉は
「蜜よりも、蜜蜂の巣のしたたりよりも甘い。」

また、詩篇 119:103に「あなたのみことばは、私の上あごに、なんと甘いことでしょう。蜜よりも私の口に甘いのです。」と書いてあります。

聖書のおいしい蜂蜜を食べたいと思いますか？。
“ハニーガイド”と言う鳥を呼ぶ必要はありません。
日曜日～次の日曜日の間にあなたの聖書が置いてある所に行って、聖書を開けて食べて見て下さい。
幸いな事に、それは、いくら食べても太りません。

THE HONEYGUIDE BIRD 

When people in Mozambique are searching for honey, they let out a long trill followed by a sharp grunt. Brrr-hm. When they do that, a bird called the “honeyguide” will appear. The honeyguide bird will fly from tree to tree until it finds a beehive. When it finds a hive, it calls the honey-hunters. After they take the honey out of the tree, the honeyguide will eat the rest of the hive. People who hunt for honey in Tanzania call the bird with a melodious whistle.

Happily, when we who live in Japan want to eat honey or use honey in cooking, we can easily get honey by going to the nearest supermarket. We do not need the help of a bird. However, if we eat a lot of honey, the possibility that we will gain weight is high, for there are 1031 calories in one cup of honey.

The church pastor resembles the honeyguide bird. He leads the church people to the honey that is in the Bible. Christians who follow the exhortation of the pastor can find something even sweeter than honey.

According to Psalm 19:10, the Word of God is sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Also, in Psalm 119:103 it is written, How sweet are they words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth！

Would you like to eat some of the delicious honey of the Bible? You do not need to call the honeyguide bird. Go to the place where you leave your Bible during the week and open it and taste the honey. Happily, no matter how much you eat, your body will not get fat, but your soul will grow.
