教会は、1月から新しい土地と会堂を探し続けています。
もう３月末なのに私たちは、まだ教会にふさわしい建物を見つける事が出来ません。
私たちは、すでに幾つかの物件を見に行きました。しかし、どの物件にも問題がありました。
例えば、場所が良いが、建物が小さかったり、あるいは、建物の広さは充分だが、場所が悪かったり、また、建物も場所も良かったが、物件が高すぎました。そして、建物も場所も値段も良かったが10台の車を止める駐車スペースがありませんでした。
新しい会堂を見つける事は私が思ったよりかなり難しい事です。

しかし、幸いな事に、神様を見つける事は難しい事ではありません。
神様を見つける条件は、ただ一つだけです。
神様を見つけたい人は熱心に神様を探さなければなりません。

エレミヤ書29:13で神様は仰せられました。
「もし、あなたがたが心を尽くしてわたしを探し求めるなら、わたしを見つける。」

今、教会員は熱心に土地を探しています。私たちは、毎日インターネットで探しています。
私たちは、数件の不動産に連絡しました。それにも関わらず、私たちは、まだふさわしい土地を見つける事が出来ません。

しかし、人が熱心に神様を探し求めるなら、その人は神様を見つける事が出来ます。そして、神様を見つける時、私たちは素晴らしい真実を知ります。それは、神様は、すでに私たちを探しておられると言う事です。
ルカの福音書19:10によると、
イエス・キリストは私たちを
（探して救うために来たのです。）

　　　　

THE PERSON WHO WILL FIND GOD　

Since January the church has continued to search for property and a new building. Now it is already the latter part of March and we still have not been able to find a suitable place.

We have gone to look at several buildings and pieces of property. However, there was a problem with each one of them. For example, the location was good, but the building was too small or there was sufficient space in the building, but the location was not good. Also, the building and the location were good, but the price was too high, or the building, the price, and the location were all good, but there was no place to park ten cars.

Finding a new church has turned out to be a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. However, happily, finding God is not difficult. There is only one condition for finding God.

The person who wants to find God must search zealously for Him. In Jeremiah 29:13 God said,
You shall seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.

Right now, the church people are zealously searching for property. We are checking the Internet daily. We have contacted several real estate agents. In spite of that, we still have not been able to find a suitable place.

However, when a person zealously searches for God, he can find Him, and when he finds Him, he will know a wonderful truth. It is the fact that God is already searching for us. According to Luke 19:10,
Jesus Christ came to seek and to save those who are lost.

【私は、ある時この話を牧師の説教の中で聴きました。】
二人の友達が釣りに出かけました。
その一人は、魚を釣る度に定規で魚の長さを計りました。 彼は小さい魚を残して、大きい魚を川に戻しました。
もう一人の友達は、ずっとこれを見ていました。不思議に思ったので友達に聞きました。
「あなたは小さい魚を残すが、大きい魚を川に戻すのはなぜですか？」
友達は答えました。「私のフライパンは25㎝サイズだからです」
何と言う愚かな人でしょう。もっと大きなフライパンを買っていたら、彼は大きな魚も食べる事が出来たのに。
しかし、彼を責める前に私達の信仰を考えましょう。
神様は、私達に大な祝福を与える事を望んでおられるのに、私達の信仰は小さすぎる信仰ではないでしょうか?

ある時、一人のお父さんがキリストの弟子達に息子の病気の癒しを願いましたが、弟子達は彼を癒す事ができませんでした。彼らがキリストに「なぜ、私達は出来なかったのでしょうか？」と聞いた時、キリストは答えました。
「あなたがたの信仰が薄いからです。まことに、あなたがたに告げます。もし、からし種ほどの信仰があったら、この山に、『ここからあそこに移れ。』と言えば移るのです。どんなことでも、あなたがたにできないことはありません。」
マタイの福音書17:20

主からもっと多くの祝福を受けたい私達も同じ問題です。信仰が足りません。主は私たちに50㎝の祝福を与えようとしておられるのに私達の信仰は25㎝の信仰です。

　　　　

THE TOO-SMALL FRYING PAN

(I heard this story in the sermon of a pastor.)

Two friends went fishing. Every time one of them would catch a fish, he would measure the length of the fish with a ruler. He kept the small fish and threw the big fish back into the river.

His friend watched him for quite a while. Finally, his curiosity got the better of him and he asked, “You keep the small fish and throw the big fish back. Why?”

The friend answered, “Because my frying pan is only 25 centimeters.”

What a fool he was! If he bought a larger frying pan, he could have eaten the big fish too. However, before we rebuke him, let’s consider our faith. God desires to give us big blessings, but isn’t our faith too small?

A father asked the disciples of Christ to heal his son, but they could not do it. When they asked Christ, “Why couldn’t we do it?” He replied, Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
（Matthew 17：20）

We have the same problem. We want to receive even more blessings from the Lord, but we do not have enough faith. God wants to give us 50-centimeter blessings, but our faith is only 25-centimeter faith.

お祈りをする時に、クリスチャンはよく神様が与えて下さったものを感謝します。しかし、皆さんは一度でも主が取り去って下さったものを感謝した事がありますか。
ある日「What He Took From Me」（主が私から取り去ったもの）と言う賛美歌を聞いた私は主が私達から取り去るものとその代わりに与えて下さるものを考えるようになりました。

主は私達の罪悪感を取り去って、罪の赦しを与えて下さいます。
クリスチャンになる前、私は過去の罪を思い出す度に罪悪感に苛まれました。しかし、私がキリストを信じた時、主はその罪悪感の代わりに罪の赦しの核心を与えて下さいました。
エペソ人への手紙1:7によると
「私たちは、この御子のうちにあって、御子の血による贖い、すなわち罪の許しを受けているのです」だから、クリスチャンはもはや過去の罪のゆえに悩む必要がありません。

主は私達の不安を取り去って、平安を与えて下さいます。
「わたしは、あなたがたに平安を残します。わたしは、あなたがたにわたしの平安を与えます。」
ヨハネの福音書14:27

主は私達の恐れを取り去って、勇気を与えて下さいます。
「たとい、死の影の谷を歩くことがあっても、私はわざわいを恐れません。あなたが私とともにおられますから。」
詩篇23:4

主は私達の弱さを取り去って、力を与えて下さいます。
「私は、私を強くしてくださる方によって、どんなことでもできるのです。」
ピリピ人への手紙4:13

主は私達の失望を取り去って、望みを与えて下さいます。
「私たちの主イエス・キリストの父なる神がほめたたえられますように。神は、ご自分の大きなあわれみのゆえに、イエス・キリストが死者の中からよみがえられたことによって、私たちを新しく生まれさせて、生ける望みを持つようにしてくださいました。」
Ⅰペテロの手紙1:3

イエス・キリストを信じて、クリスチャンになる事は何と言う素晴らしい事でしょう。神様は、私達の罪悪感と不安と恐れと弱さと失望を取り去って下さいます。
これから祈る時、主が取り去ってくださったものも感謝しましょう。

　　　　

WHAT THE LORD TOOK FROM ME　　

When we pray, we often thank God for what He has given us. However, have you even one time thanked the Lord for what He took from us. Recently when I heard a song entitled “What He Took From Me,” I began to think about what God takes from us and gives us in its place.

The Lord takes our guilt and gives us forgiveness. Before I became a Christian, I felt guilty when I remembered my past sins; however, when I believed in Christ, the Lord took away my guilt, and in its place He gave me the assurance that my sins had been forgiven.
According to Ephesians 1:7, we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, so the Christian does not need to be troubled by past sins any longer.

The Lord takes away our anxiety and gives us peace.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.
(John 14:27)

The Lord takes away our fear and gives us courage.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for you are with me.
(Psalm 23:4)

The Lord takes away our weakness and gives us strength.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
(Philippians 4:13)

The Lord takes away our despair and gives us hope.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
(First Peter 1:3)

What a wonderful thing it is to believe in Jesus Christ and become a Christian! God takes away our guilt, anxiety, fear, weakness, and despair. From now on when we pray, let’s thank the Lord for what He took from us.

門司区大里町にあるレストランで友達に会う約束をして、私はgoogle mapで住所を調べて地図を印刷しました。その地図を見ると九州高速道路を通る方が早いと思いました。念のために住所を車のナビにも入力しました。高速道路の入口に近づいた時、ナビは「右の方です」と言ったのに高速の入口は左の方でした。
一瞬迷った私はナビを無視して印刷した地図に従う事にしました。その結果、私は三つの損をしました。

まず、お金の損がありました。ナビの指示に従って都市高速を利用すれば￥510でよかったのに、門司まで九州高速を利用して、そこから都市高速に入ったので￥800もかかってしまいました。そして、門司のインターは大里の次なので私は門司から大里のインターまで戻らなければなりませんでした。だから時間とガソリンの損もありました。

ナビを無視する事によって損をした私の様に、神様の導きを無視するクリスチャンも損をします。例えば、カデシュで神様の導きを無視したイスラエルの民は40年間荒野で彷徨の時を過ごさなければなりませんでした。(民数記13章と14章)

詩篇81:11-14で神様はおっしゃいました。
「しかしわが民は、わたしの声を聞かず、イスラエルは、わたしに従わなかった。 それでわたしは、彼らをかたくなな心のままに任せ、自分たちのおもんぱかりのままに歩かせた。 ああ、ただ、わが民がわたしに聞き従い、イスラエルが、わたしの道を歩いたのだったら。わたしはただちに、彼らの敵を征服し、彼らの仇に、わたしの手を向けたのに。」

彼等と同じ様に神様の導きを無視して自分勝手な道を選ぶクリスチャンは必ず何かの損をします。
一方では、神様の御声を聞いて主の導きに従うクリスチャンは祝福されます。

「もし、あなたが、あなたの神、主の御声によく聞き従い、主のすべての命令を守り行なうなら、あなたがあなたの神、主の御声に聞き従うので、あなたは祝福される。」

WHAT I LOST BY IGNORING THE GPS　

I promised to meet my friend at a restaurant in the town of Dairi in Moji, so I went to Google and printed a map. Looking at that map, I decided that the best way to go would be to take the Kyushu Expressway. To make sure, I put the address into my GPS too. As I approached the entrance to the Expressway, the GPS told me to go to the right, but the entrance to the Expressway was to the left. Confused for just an instant, I decided to ignore the GPS and follow the map that I had printed. As a result, I ended up with three losses.

First, I lost some money. If I had followed the GPS and taken the City Expressway, it would have cost me only \500, but I took the Kyushu Expressway to Moji and then had to enter the City Expressway to go to Dairi, so it cost me \800. Also, the Moji exit was on the other side of Dairi, so I had to go back as far as the Dairi exit. As a result, I lost time and gasoline.

Just as I suffered loss because I ignored the GPS, Christians will suffer loss if they ignore the leading of the Lord. For example, because the Israelites ignored the leading of the Lord at Kadesh, they had to wander in the wilderness for forty years. (Numbers 13-14)

In Psalm 81:11-14 the Lord said,
But My people would not heed My voice, And Israel would have none of Me. So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart, To walk in their own counsels. Oh, that My people would listen to Me, That Israel would walk in My ways! I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn My hand against their adversaries.

Likewise, the Christian who ignores the leading of the Lord and chooses to go his own way will without fail suffer loss. On the other hand, the Christian who will follow the leading of the Lord will be blessed.
Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you, all these blessings shall come upon you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God (Deuteronomy 28:1-2)
