旧約聖書の時代にユダヤ人は、土曜日に集まって神を礼拝しました。
しかし、今クリスチャンは、日曜日に集まって神を礼拝しています。
「週の初めの日に、私たちはパンを裂くために集まった。」使徒の働き20:7　なぜ?

キリストが逮捕された時、弟子達は逃げました。
「そのとき、弟子たちはみな、イエスを見捨てて、逃げてしまった。」マタイの福音書26:56

しかし、後ほどヨハネとキリストを裏切ったユダを除いて弟子達は、キリストの御名のために命を捨てました。
ペテロとアンデレとピリポとタダイとシモンとバルトロマイは、十字架につけられました。
ヤコブとマタイは、剣で殺されました。
トマスは、槍で殺されました。
もう一人のヤコブは、棒で殺されました。こうして強くなってキリストを捨てた弟子達は、勇気を持って主のために死にました。なぜ？

クリスチャンは、死ぬ事と死後の事を恐れていません。
「たとい、死の陰の谷を歩くことがあっても、私はわざわいを恐れません。」詩篇23:4　なぜ？

上記の三つの質問は、全部同じ答えです。
キリストは、よみがえられたからです。
第１世紀からクリスチャンは日曜日に起こったキリストの復活を覚えるために日曜日に集まる様になりました。
キリストを捨てて逃げた弟子達は、自分の目でよみがえられたキリストを見たので、彼等は大胆に福音を宣べ伝えました。
（マルコの福音書16:14、19～20）

そして、キリストは、よみがえられました。
クリスチャンはヨハネの福音書11:25-26に書いてあるキリストの約束を信じているから、死ぬ事を恐れていません。
「わたしは、よみがえりです。いのちです。わたしを信じる者は、死んでも生きるのです。」

また、キリストを信じる人々は、
みんな「生ける望み」を持っています。
「私たちの主イエス・キリストの父なる神がほめたたえられますように。神は、ご自分の大きなあわれみのゆえに、イエス・キリストが死者の中からよみがえられたことによって、私たちを新しく生まれさせて、生ける望みを持つようにしてくださいました」Ⅰペテロの手紙１:３

　　　　

WHY ?  

In the Old Testament era the Jews gathered on Saturday and worshipped God.
However, now Christians gather on Sunday and worship God.
On the first day of the week, when the disciples came together . . . . (Acts 20:7) Why?

When Christ was arrested, the disciples fled.
Then all the disciples forsook him and fled.
(Matthew 26:56)
However, later, except for Judas who betrayed Christ and John, all of the disciples gave their lives for Christ. Peter, Andrew, Philip, Thaddeus, Bartholomew, and Simon were crucified. James and Matthew were killed with a sword. Thomas was killed with a spear. The other disciple named James was killed with a club. Thus, the disciples who became afraid and forsook Christ bravely died for the Lord. Why?

Christians are not fearful of death and what comes after death.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. (Psalm 23:4) Why?

The answer to all three of these questions is the same answer: because Christ arose. In the first century the Christians began to gather on Sunday to honor the day on which Christ arose.

The disciples who forsook Jesus and fled saw the resurrected Christ with their own eyes, so they boldly proclaimed the gospel.
(Mark 16: 14, 19-20)

Because Christians believe the promise of the resurrected Christ in John 11:25-26, they are not afraid of death.
I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.

All those who believe in Christ have a “living hope.”
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. (First Peter 1:3)
