月曜日の朝、ゴミを出しに行きました。
私の前に一人のご婦人もゴミ収集場所に向かっていました。 私よりも年上らしき彼女は三つのゴミ袋を持っていました。
途中で彼女は疲れて、一つの袋を下ろしました。 二だけを出してから、もう一つを取りに戻るようでした。私は彼女が下ろした袋を拾って収集場所まで持って行ってあげました。
彼女は微笑んで「ありがとうございました」と何度も言って帰って行きました。
家に帰りながら、聖書の御言葉、二箇所を思い浮かべました。

一つは、ガラテヤ人への手紙6:2でした。
「互いの重荷を負い合い、そのようにしてキリストの律法を全うしなさい。」
キリストを信じる信仰によって兄弟と姉妹になったクリスチャンは互いに重荷を負い合うべきです。
「教会」という言葉の定義は色々ありますが、一つは「クリスチャン達がお互いに重荷を負い合う場所です」大きな重荷を負っている教会の兄弟や姉妹を見たら、祈りと具体的な助けを通して、その重荷を一緒に負いましょう。

もう一つの箇所は詩篇55:22でした。
「あなたの重荷を主にゆだねよ。主は、あなたのことを心配してくださる。」
クリスチャンの重荷はどのようなものであっても、主はその重荷に感心を持っておられます。
重荷がある限り日々の祈りを通してその重荷を主にゆだねましょう。

「ほむべきかな。日々、私たちのために重荷をになわれる神。」詩篇 68:19

もし、あなたが現在、人生の悲しい出来事や人間関係の問題のために三つの重いゴミ袋のような重荷を負っているなら、キリストの言葉を思い出してください。

「すべて、疲れた人、重荷を負っている人は、わたしのところに来なさい。わたしがあなたがたを休ませてあげます。」マタイの福音書11:28

　　　　

HEAVY TRASH BAGS　

On Monday morning, I went to take out the trash. A woman in front of me was walking toward the trash collection site. The lady, who was older than I, was carrying three trash bags. On the way, she became tired and put down one of the bags. She intended to take two of the bags to the collection site and then come back for the other one. I picked up her bag and carried it to the collection site. She smiled and said,
“Thank you,” many times.

As I walked back to my house, my mind was dwelling on two Bible passages. One of them was Galatians 6:2. Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Christians who have become brothers and sisters through faith in Christ should bear each other’s burdens. There are many definitions of the word “church.” One of them is “a place where Christians bear each other’s burdens.” When we see a brother or sister carrying a heavy burden, through prayer and specific assistance, let’s bear the burden with them.

The other passage was Psalm 55:22.
Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee.
Whether the burden of a Christian is a small burden or a large burden, the Lord is concerned about that burden. As long as that burden exists, through daily prayer let’s cast that burden upon the Lord.

If, because of some sad experience of life or a problem in human relationships, you are now carrying a burden like three heavy trash bags, remember the words of Christ.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)
