先週の九州合同キャンプで、とても恥ずかしい経験をしました。
ある事について考え込みながら私は御手洗に入りました。
すると「ボード先生！ ボード先生！ ボード先生！」と叫んでいる数人の声が聞こえました。私はビックリして周りを見渡しました。
なんと女子の御手洗に入っていました！　恥ずかしい思いをしながら急いで出て行きました。幸いにも、その時、女子の御手洗には誰も入っていませんでした。しかし、もし私がそこにいる間、女性が入って来たら、もっと恥ずかしい思いをした事でしょう。
私は警告してくださった皆さんに感謝しています。

時々、教会の牧師は、同じような事をしなければなりません。
正しい道から離れて行こうとしている兄弟を牧師は「兄弟！ 兄弟！ 兄弟！」あなたが入ろうとしている道は危ない道ですよ。早くその道から出なさい」と叫ばなければなりません。
牧師は、使徒パウロの模範に従うべきです。

使徒の働き20:31でパウロは言いました。
「私が三年の間、夜も昼も、涙とともにあなたがたひとりひとりを訓戒し続けて来た。」

クリスチャンにもこの責任があります。パウロはテサロニケの信者達にこの言葉を送りました。
「兄弟たち。あなたがたに勧告します。気ままな者を戒めなさい。」Ⅰテサロニケ5:14
英語の聖書には「気ままな者を警告しなさい。」
と書いてあります。

もし、誘惑の道を歩んでいる姉妹を見たら「姉妹！ 姉妹！ 姉妹！」あなたが歩んでいる道は危険な道ですよ。早くその道から出なさい」と叫びましょう。
場合によって、私たちは警告する者ではなくて警告される者になるかもしれません。

その時、箴言10:17を思い出しましょう。
「訓戒を大事にする者はいのちへの道にあり、叱責を捨てる者は迷い出る。」

　　　　

“PASTOR BOARD! PASTOR BOARD! PASTOR BOARD!”

While I was at the Kyushu Camp last week, I had an embarrassing experience. Deep in thought about something, I entered the bathroom. As I did, I heard the voices of several people shouting, “Pastor Board! Pastor Board! Pastor Board!” I was startled and looked around. I was in the ladies’ bathroom! Embarrassed, I left there quickly.

Fortunately, there was no one in the ladies’ bathroom. However, if a lady had entered while I was there, it would have been an even more embarrassing incident. I am thankful to those who warned me.

Occasionally, the church pastor must do the same kind of thing. When he sees a Christian who is about to stray from the right path, he must shout, “Brother! Brother! Brother! The path you are about to enter is a dangerous path. Hurry and get off that path.”

A pastor should follow the example of the Apostle Paul. In Acts 20:31, Paul said, Watch, and remember that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

Christians have this responsibility too. Paul wrote these words to the believers in Thessalonica. Now, we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly.
If we see a sister walking the road of temptation, let’s shout, “Sister” Sister! Sister! The road you are walking is a dangerous road. Hurry and get off that road.”

There may be times when, instead of being the person who warns, we are the person who is warned. If so, let’s remember
Proverbs 10:17.
He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.
