「運転しながら携帯電話を使う事は危険です」
私たちは何度もこの警告を聞いた事があると思いますが、私は皆さんにこの事も警告します。
「携帯電話を見ながら歩く事も危険です」

私は普段、家のリビングルームと廊下の間のドアは開けっぱなしです。
しかし、最近とても寒くなったのでドアを閉め切っています。先日、携帯電話を見ながら私は台所からリビングルームに行こうとした時、突然、頭をゴツンとその閉じたドアにぶつけました。幸いな事に、頭にコブはできなかったが、その閉じたドアのために私の頭はしばらく痛みました。

時々私たちは人生において閉じたドアにぶつかります。心は傷つけられます。
驚く事に、そのドアを閉じる方は神様御自身です。
私たちは計画を立てて進もうとするが、神様はその計画のドアを閉じてしまいます。
なぜでしょうか。

次の二つの事が考えられます。
まず、私達の計画は神様の御心ではないからです。パウロとシラスはアジアで福音を宣べ伝える計画でしたが、神様はそのドアを閉じました。なぜなら、彼等が福音をヨーロッパまで広める事が神様の御心だったからです。（使徒の働き16:6-10）

神様が私たちの計画のドアを閉じる理由はもう一つあります。
神様はもっと素晴らしい計画を立てておられるからです。デイヴィッド・リヴィングストンと言う有名な宣教師は中国に行こうと計画をしたが、神様はそのドアを閉じました。なぜなら、神様はリヴィングストンを通してアフリカでの福音のために開かれた計画があったからです。

人生のドアが閉じられている時、この二つの事を実行しましょう。まず、主の御心を祈りながら待ちましょう。
そして、エレミヤ書29:11に書いてある主の言葉を信じましょう。 「わたしはあなたがたのために立てている計画をよく知っているからだ。―主の御告げ。―それはわざわいではなくて、平安を与える計画であり、あなたがたに将来と希望を与えるためのものだ。」

　　　

THE CLOSED DOOR  

You have heard the warning, “Using your cell phone while driving is dangerous,” haven’t you? Well, let me give you this warning too: “Walking while looking at your cell phone is dangerous.”

Usually the door between my living room and the hall is open; however, lately the weather has been rather cold, so I shut it often. The other day, I tried to walk from my kitchen to the living room while looking at my cell phone. Suddenly, “Bonk!” my head banged into the closed door. Happily, no bump appeared on my head, but my head did hurt for a while.

In life, sometimes we bump into a closed door and our heart is broken. The amazing thing is that God is the one who shut the door. We make our plans and try to go forward, but God shuts the door. Why? There are two possible reasons.

First, God shuts the door because our plan is not His will. Paul and Silas intended to preach the gospel in Asia, but God shut the door because it was His will for them to spread the gospel to Europe. (Acts 16:6-10)

There is another reason why God shuts the door on our plans. It is because He has a better plan. The famous missionary, David Livingstone, tried to go to China, but God shut the door because it was His plan to open Africa to the gospel through Livingstone.

When the doors of our life are closed, let’s do two things. First, let’s pray and wait. Second, let’s remember the words of the Lord written in Jeremiah 29:11.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
