若い時には、疲れずに一日トラクトを何百枚も配る事が出来ました。しかし、現在75歳になった私は100枚位を配ると、とても疲れます。
さらに足の神経痛なので途中で痛みます。

先日トラクトを配布をしました。やはり終わった時、とても疲れ、やはり足が痛みました。 そして駐車していた車までかなりの距離がありました。疲れと痛みを感じながら車の所まで向かって行きました。
ようやく車が見える所まで来きました。「これ以上、一歩も歩けない！」と思いながら私は車を目標に「いち・に・いち・に」と口ずさみながら車まで歩きました。

2018年の一年間に、私達は信仰生活において同じような事に遭遇するかも知れません。「これ以上、一歩も歩けない！」と思う時があるかも知れません。思いがけない出来事で、心が痛むかも知れません。
その時、私と同じように「いち・に・いち・に」と口ずさみながら、一歩ずつ歩き続けましょう。神様に「もう一方歩く力、今日生きる力を与えてください」と祈りながら、目標に向かって進んで行きましょう。

ピリピ人への手紙3:13-14でパウロは書きました。
「兄弟たちよ。私は、自分はすでに捕えたなどと考えてはいません。ただ、この一事に励んでいます。すなわち、うしろのものを忘れ、ひたむきに前のものに向かって進み、 キリスト・イエスにおいて上に召してくださる神の栄冠を得るために、目標を目ざして一心に走っているのです。」

私達も、2018年の1月1日～12月31日まで、あらゆる試練や困難に関わらず「いち・に・いち・に」信仰の道を一歩ずつ歩き続けましょう。

　　　 

ONE, TWO, ONE, TWO　

When I was young, I could pass out hundreds of flyers in a day without getting tired. Now I am 75years old and I get tired after passing out just 100 flyers. In addition, because of the nerve pain in my feet, they begin to hurt along the way.

The other day, I passed out some flyers, and, sure enough, when I finished, I was very tired, and my feet were hurting. It was quite a distance back to my car. Sensing fatigue and pain, I headed for the place where my car was parked.

Finally, I reached the place where I could see my car in the distance. Thinking, “I cannot walk other step,” I fixed my eyes on my car and saying, “One, two, one, two,” I walked to my car.

During the new year which shall begin tomorrow, we may face the same kind of experience in our faith-life. There may be times when we think, “I cannot go any further.” There may be times when our heart hurts because of some unexpected event.

At those times, just like I did, saying, “One, two, one, two,” let’s continue to walk one step at a time. Praying “God give me the power to walk one more step. God, give me the power to live one more day,” let’s keep heading toward the goal.

In Philippians 3:13-14 Paul wrote, Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

In 2018, from January 1 to December 31, in spite of the trials and difficulties, let’s continue to walk the path of faith one, two, one, two steps at a time.
