アメリカは信号機が赤でも止まらなくていいのです。多くの交差点にこのサインがあります。「Right turn on red.」

I was quite nervous when I drove a car in the U.S. for the first time in a year and a half because, different from Japan, cars in the U. S. drive on the right side of the road. I kept telling myself, “Right. Right.”
There is another big difference. At many intersections, there is a sign that reads, “Right turn on red.” Even if the signal is red, if no cars are coming, it is okay to turn right. Of course, in Japan, as long as the signal is red, cars must remain stopped, so I think it is going to take a while for me to get used to driving rules in the U. S.
The relationship of God and Christians is similar to the driving rules in Japan. When our conduct is not pleasing to the Lord, through the Holy Spirit dwelling in us, He will say, “STOP.” When the Lord says, “STOP,” if we do not stop what we are doing, the results may be tragic.
In chapter 14 of Numbers, when the people of Israel ignored the command of God and tried to enter the promised land, God spoke to them through Moses. Go not up, for the LORD [is] not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies. (verse 42)
However, even though God said, “STOP,” the people of Israel went forward. When they did, the Amalekites and the Canaanites who dwelt in that mountain came down and attacked them, and drove them back as far as Hormah. (verse 45)
When we ignore the “STOP” of the Holy Spirit, we too will regret it, so to become a victorious Christian, let us constantly obey the voice of the Lord.
