三つの家族

私は“ボード”と言う名の家庭に生まれました。
私は一人っ子で、両親が離婚した時まだ3歳～4歳位でした。
その後、私は時々親戚と一緒に、ある時、親と彼の2番目の奥さんと一緒に、そして彼女の2番目の主人と一緒に暮らしました。
私が9歳の時、父は亡くなりました。
そして彼等が離婚するまで私は母と継父と一緒に暮らしました。
私の最初の家族に関する思い出はあまり良い思い出はありません。

次の家族は神様が私と妻ルイーズに与えてくださった家族です。
1人の息子と3人の娘と8人の孫が与えられました。
今日まで私の子どもたちは全員、忠実に教会に行っています。
私は彼らを誇りに思っています。

もう一つの家族があります。
ガラテヤ人への手紙6:10に聖書はその家族を
「信仰の家族」と呼んでいます。

ヨハネの福音1:12によると、人がキリストを信じる時、その人は神様の家族に入ります。

また、エペソ人への手紙2:19に
「あなたがたは、もはや他国人でも寄留者でもなく、今は聖徒たちと同じ国民であって、神の家族なのです」と書いてあります。

先日、小倉教会の兄弟･姉妹たちと一緒に公園にピクニック行きました。
私はベンチに座って、食べたり話したり遊んだり笑ったりする皆さんを見ながら「神様が私にすばらしい信仰の家族を与えてくださった」と思いました。
私はキリストを信じる信仰によって私の兄弟と姉妹になった皆さんをとても感謝します。

「兄弟たちが一つになって共に住むことは、なんというしあわせ、なんという楽しさであろう。」詩篇133:1

　　　 

THREE FAMILIES　

I was born into the Board family. I am an only child. When my parents divorced, I was still just three or four years old. After that, sometimes I lived with relatives, sometimes with my father and his second wife, and sometimes with my mother and her second husband. My father died when I was nine years old, so after that I lived with my mother and stepfather until they divorced. My memories of my first family are not very happy memories.

My next family is the family that God gave to Louise and me. I have one son, three daughters, and eight grandchildren. To this day all my children go to church faithfully, so I am proud of them.

I have one more family. In Galatians 6:10 the Bible calls this family a “household of faith.” According to John 1:12, when a person believes in Christ, he becomes a member of the family of God.
In Ephesians 2:19 it is written,
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God.

On Monday when I went to the picnic with the brothers and sisters of the Kokura church, as I sat on a bench and watched everyone, eating, talking, playing, and laughing, I thought, “God has given me a wonderful family of faith.” I am very grateful for all of you who have become my brothers and sisters through faith in Christ.

How good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity. (Psalm 133:1)
