楽しい！…けれども……

私が小倉教会の事を考える時、詩篇133:1の御言葉が浮かんできます。
「見よ。兄弟たちが一つになって共に住むことは、なんというしあわせ、なんという楽しさであろう。」

皆さんと共に賛美して、聖書を学ぶ事が楽しい。共に昼食をする事が楽しい。昼食食事後の交わりが楽しい。午後に皆さんと共に色んな活動をする事も楽しい。
楽しい！…けれども……、私たちは共に教会生活を楽しみながら、この教会の最も大切な目的を忘れてはいけません。
それはマルコの福音書16:15に書いてあります。
「全世界に出て行き、すべての造られた者に、福音を宣べ伝えなさい。」

最近、私は友達と一緒に「焼肉食べ放題のレストラン」に行きました。食事はとてもおいしかったし、交わりもとても楽しかった。そして食後、友達は私を家まで送ってくれました。
車を降りて家のカギを探しながら玄関に行きました。そしてその時、大変な事に気が付きました。「家のカギがない！」カギが入っているコートをレストランに置き忘れてしまったのでした！
私は帰って行く友達の車に向って「待ってくれ～！」と叫びました。幸いに私の叫び声が届き、車を止めてくれました。そして彼は私を再びレストランまで戻ってくれて、家のカギ・車のカギ・教会のカギが入っているコートを受け取る事ができました。

私は、楽しい食事に夢中になって大切な物を忘れてしまいました。小倉教会はこのような同じ間違いをしてはいけません。
教会生活を共に楽しみましょう。けれども、私たちは主から受けた大事な任務を忘れては行けません。
「街道や垣根のところに出かけて行って、この家がいっぱいになるように、無理にでも人々を連れて来なさい。」
ルカの福音書14:23

　　　 

IT WAS DELIGHTFUL…BUT……

Whenever I think about the Kokura church, these words in Psalm 133:1 come to my mind.
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Singing and studying the Bible together with everyone is delightful. Eating lunch together is delightful. The fellowship after lunch is delightful. Participating in various activities in the afternoon is delightful.

It is delightful . . . BUT we must not forget the most important purpose of this church. It is written in Mark 16:15. Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

Recently a friend and I went to an all-you-can-eat yakiniku restaurant. The meal was delicious, and the fellowship was delightful. Later my friend drove me home. I got out of his car and, searching for my keys, walked toward my house. Just then I realized something awful. My overcoat with my keys inside it was still at the restaurant!

I yelled toward the car that was pulling away, “Wait!” Thankfully, my friend heard my shout. He drove me to the restaurant, so I was able to get my overcoat that had my house key, car keys, and church key in it.

I became engrossed in the delightful meal and forgot something important. The Kokura church must not make the same mistake. Let’s enjoy our time at church together. But we must not forget the important mission that we received from the Lord.
Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. (Luke 14:23)
