私はスイカが大好きです。夏になると毎晩スイカを食べます。
しかし、いつも買っているスイカについてわからない事が一つあります。スイカの容器に数字の書いたシールが貼ってあります。普通10～12です。
最近まで、その数字を見て何を表わしているか不思議に思っていました。

先週の日曜日に教会の姉妹はそれを説明してくださいました。 数字はスイカの糖度を表しています。そうです数字はスイカの甘味です。数字が高くなればなるほどスイカは甘いのです。最も甘いスイカは15度だそうです。

もし、神様が同じような事をしたら、どうなるでしょうか？
つまり、神様が一人ひとりのクリスチャンの額にそのクリスチャンの義度シールを貼ったなら、あなたの義度は何度になるでしょうか。

例えば、Ⅰテサロニケ人への手紙の5:12-22にクリスチャンが守るべき15の命令が書いてあります。

①あなたがたの間で労苦し、主にあってあなたがたを指導し、訓戒している人々を認めなさい。その務めのゆえに、愛をもって深い尊敬を払いなさい。
②お互いの間に平和を保ちなさい。
③気ままな者を戒めなさい。
④小心な者を励ましなさい。
⑤弱い者を助けなさい。
⑥すべての人に対して寛容でありなさい。
⑦だれも悪をもって悪に報いないように気をつけなさい。
⑧お互いの間で、またすべての人に対して、いつも善を行なうよう務めなさい。
⑨いつも喜んでいなさい。
⑩絶えず祈りなさい。
⑪すべての事について、感謝しなさい。
⑫御霊を消してはなりません。
⑬預言をないがしろにしてはいうけません。
⑭すべてのことを見分けて、ほんとうに良いものを堅く守りなさい。
⑮悪はどんな悪でも避けなさい。

今、私達はこの15の命令を、いくつ守っているでしょうか？　その数字の結果が私達の義度です。

　　　 

WHAT IS YOUR LEVEL
　OF RIGHTEOUSNESS ?

I love watermelon. In the summer, I eat watermelon every night. However, there was one thing I did not understand about the watermelon I always bought. There is a number written on top of the pack. Usually, it is 12 or 11 or 10. Until recently I wondered what that number meant.

Last Sunday at church, one of the ladies of the church explained it to me. The number shows the level of sugar in the watermelon. In other words, the number shows how sweet the watermelon is. The higher the number, the sweeter the watermelon. The number of the sweetest watermelon is 15.

What would happen if God did the same thing? In other words, if God wrote the level of our righteousness on our forehead, what would the level of our righteousness be?

For example, in First Thessalonians 5:12-22 there is a list of 15 commands that Christians should obey.

① Recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake.
②Be at peace among yourselves.
③Warn those who are unruly.
④Comfort the fainthearted.
⑤Uphold the weak.
⑥Be patient with all.
⑦See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone.
⑧Always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
⑨Rejoice always.
⑩Pray without ceasing.
⑪In everything give thanks.
⑫Do not quench the Spirit.
⑬Do not despise prophecies.
⑭Test all things; hold fast what is good.
⑮Abstain from every form of evil.

How many of these commands are we obeying? That number is the level of our righteousness.
