最もすばらしい愛の物語

人類の歴史と文学には、いろんな愛の物語があります。
文学の中で愛の物語はシェイクスピアの「ロミオ＆ジュリエット」が一番有名な愛の物語であるかもしれません。
歴史の中で「マーク・アントニー＆クレオパトラ」
また、愛する恋人と結婚するためにイギリスの王位を退位した「エドワード8世」の愛の物語が有名です。
聖書の中では「ボアズ＆ルツ」の愛の物語はすべてのクリスチャンに知られています。

しかし、これらの愛の物語より、もっと素晴らしい愛の物語があります。
その物語は聖書のヨハネの福音書3:16に書いてあります。
「神は、実に、そのひとり子をお与えになったほどに、世を愛された。それは御子を信じる者が、ひとりとして滅びることなく、永遠のいのちを持つためであった。」

この箇所に書いてある愛は神聖な愛、すなわち神様の聖い愛です。これは最も素晴らしい愛の物語です。天と地を創造した神様ご自身の愛です。

文学と歴史の中にある愛の物語は一人の人を愛した人間の物語です。しかし、神様の愛は世を愛する愛、つまり全ての人類に対する神の愛です。

そのひとり子をお与えになったほどに、この言葉は神様の愛の素晴らしさを表す言葉です。
私たちに永遠の命を与えるために神様のひとり子、イエス・キリストは十字架の上で私たちのために死んでくださいました。
「神はそのひとり子を世に遣わし、その方によって私たちに、いのちを得させてくださいました。ここに、神の愛が私たちに示されたのです。」Ⅰヨハネの手紙4:9

　　　 

THE MOST WONDERFUL
LOVE STORY

In literature and in history there are various love stories. In literature, Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliette may be the most famous love story. In history, the love stories of Marc Anthony and Cleopatra and also Edward VIII who abdicated the throne of England to marry his sweetheart are famous. In the Bible, the love story of Boaz and Ruth is known by all Christians.

However, there is a love story that is more wonderful than all the above stories. That story is written in John 3:16 in the Bible.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The love written in this passage is divine love, the holy love of God, so it is the most wonderful love story. It is the love of the God who created the heavens and the earth.

The love stories in literature and history are the love stories of people who loved one person. However, the love of God is love that loved the world, in other words, love that loves all people.

That He gave His only begotten Son! These words express the wonderfulness of the love of God. God’s only Son, Jesus Christ, died for us on the cross to give us eternal life.
In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
