私は、しばらく祈りを通して神様にあることを願いました。
ようやく答えがありました。「NO」でした。正直に言って私は、泣くほど失望しました。
なぜなら自分が願ったことは、ある問題の完全な解決であると思ったからです。しかし、神様は「NO」とおっしゃいました。

聖書の中で神様は、次の人達にも「NO」と応えました。
サウル（Ⅰサムエル記14章）
ダビデ（Ⅱサムエル記12章）
エリヤ（Ⅰ列王記19
ヨナ（ヨナ書4章）
ヤコブとヨハネ（マルコの福音書10章）
とパウロ（Ⅱコリント12章）

神様が私たちの祈りに「NO」と答えるとき私たちは、どの様に反応すべきでしょうか。キリストの模範があります。十字架かにつく前にキリストは、祈りました。
「父よ。みこころならば、この杯をわたしから取りのけてください。しかし、わたしの願いではなく、みこころのとおりにしてください。」ルカの福音書22:42
「わたしの願いではなく」これは、非常に言いにくい言葉です。 そして「みこころのとおりにしてください。」この言葉は、もっと言いにくい言葉です。

しかし、私たちは祈りの目的を覚えなければなりません。祈りの目的は、自分が欲しがっているものや貰う事だけでは、ありません。祈りのもう一つの大事な目的は、神様の御心を確認することです。

自分が神様に願ったことは、主の御心では、ないとわかるとき私たちは、続けて祈りを通して主の御心を求めるべきです。
なぜなら、Ⅰヨハネの手紙5:14に「何事でも神のみこころにかなう願いをするなら、神はその願いを聞いてくださるということ、これこそ神に対する私たちの確信です。」と書いてあるからです。

　　　 

NO！　

For a while I prayed and asked God for something. Finally, the answer came. It was “NO.” Speaking honestly, I was so disappointed that I cried because I thought that what I requested of God was the perfect solution to a certain problem. However, God said, “NO.”

In the Bible God said, “NO” to these people too: Saul (First Samuel 14), David (Second Samuel 12), Elijah (First Kings 19), Jonah (Jonah 4), James and John (Mark 10), and Paul (Second Corinthians 12).

When God replies, “NO,” to our prayers, how should we react? We have the example of Christ. Before He went to the cross, He prayed, Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.

“Not my will” – these words are hard to say. “Your will be done” – these words are even harder to say. However, we must remember the purpose of prayer. The purpose of prayer is not just to receive the things that we desire. Another important purpose of prayer is to confirm the will of God.

When we realize that what we requested is not the will of God, we should continue to seek His will through prayer, for in First John 5:14 it is written, Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
