崖崩れ

今度の大雨で九州の各地で崖崩れが起こっています。
川の氾濫や崖崩れの写真を新聞で見て、過去に四国で起きた崖崩れを思い出しました。
私は、教会の兄弟と一緒に夏キャンプの場所を探すために四国に行きました。
私達は、山奥まで見に行って、そして山を下りました。

途中で自動販売機があり、兄弟は「飲み物を買いましょう」と言ったので私は、車を止めました。どの飲み物にしようかと選んでいた時『ドーン！』という地鳴りのようなすごい音が聞こえました。兄弟は「今の音は、何でしょうか？」と言いました。

車に戻って、山を下って行きました。2〜3分位経過して、私達は、驚きました。
道路の真ん中に土砂と大きな岩の崖崩れがあり道を塞いでいました。
私と兄弟は、顔を見合わせました。
もし私達が、飲み物を買っていなかったら、崖崩れが起こった時、私達は、ちょうどその場所を通っていたかもしれません。
私達は、神様に感謝しました。

神様は、よく思いがけない方法で私達を守ってくださいます。
例えば、私達は、青信号に間に合わなかったらイライラします。
しかし、その赤信号は、私達を事故から守ってくださる神様の方法であるかもしれません。

日々、私達が気付かない方法で神様は守ってくださいます。
天国に行く時どのようにして神様は、私達を災いから守ってくださったかを知る時、きっと驚くでしょう。

「主の使いは主を恐れる者の周りに陣を張り、彼らを助け出される。」詩篇34:7

　　 

LANDSLIDE　

Because of the heavy rain, many landslides have occurred in Kyushu. When I saw a picture of a landslide in the newspaper, I remembered a landslide that happened in Shikoku. A Christian brother and I went to Shikoku to look for a place for Summer Camp. After going way up into the mountain, we started down.

On the way down, there was a vending machine, so the brother said, “Let’s get something to drink.” When we were trying to decide what to drink, we heard a terrific sound. The brother said, “I wonder what that was?”

We returned to the car and headed down the mountain. After 2-3 minutes, we were amazed. There was dirt and a large rock in the middle of the road. The brother and I looked at each other. If we had not bought those drinks, we might have been right at that spot when the landslide happened. We gave thanks to the Lord.

God often protects us through unexpected methods. For example, we are irritated because we did not make the green light in time, but that red light may have been the method of God to protect us from an accident.

Every day God protects us in ways that we do not even notice. When we go to heaven and see the many ways God protected us from harm, we will be amazed for certain.

The angel of the Lord encamps around those that fear Him and delivers them. (Psam 34:7)
