61年前の夏キャンプ

1959年の夏、私は青年キャンプに参加しました。
その4年前にクリスチャンになりましたが、あまり主に喜ばれるクリスチャンでは、ありませんでした。
キャンプの初日の集会で私は、その4年間の生き方を悔い改めました。
私は、2日目の集会で神様の導きに従って献身しました。
61年前のことですが、神様がご自身の働きのために、このような私を選んだくださったことに驚いています。

Ⅰコリント人への手紙1:27に書いてあります。
「神は、知恵ある者をはずかしめるために、この世の愚かな者を選び、強いものをはずかしめるために、この世の弱い者を選ばれたのです。」

「イスラエル人をエジプトでの奴隷生活から解放するために、主は、話の下手なモーセを選ばれました。」
出エジプト記4:10

「イスラエル人をミデヤン人の圧迫から救い出すために主は、イスラエルの最も弱い部族の中にある家の一番若いギデオンを選ばれました。」士師記6:15

福音を全世界に伝えるために主は、12人の弟子を選ばれました。
そのうちの（アンデレ、ペテロ、ヨハネ、ヤコブ）4人は、漁師でした。
（レビ）1人は、取税人でした。
（マタイの福音書4:18と21・マルコの福音書2:14）
ペテロとヨハネは、無学なものでした。
（使徒の働き4;13）

もし、あなたが「主は、私のような人を選びません。私は、主に役に立たないものです。」と思っているなら、思い直してください。
そこで、主は、あなたを選び、大いに用いてくださる可能性があります。

　　  

SUMMER CAMP 61 YEARS AGO

In the summer of 1959 I went to Youth Camp. I had become a Christian four years prior to that, but I was a Christian who was not very pleasing to the Lord. I repented of my way of living for those four years at the first service of the Camp. At a service two days later, I obeyed the leading of the Lord and surrendered my life to Him. Although it was 61 years ago, I am still amazed that the Lord chose someone like me to work for Him.

God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty. (First Corinthians 1:27)

God chose Moses who was poor in speech to deliver the Israelites from a life of bondage in Egypt. (Exodus 4:10)

God chose Gideon, who was the youngest member of a house in the weakest tribe in Israel to deliver the Israelites from the oppression of the Midianites. (Judges 6:15)

God chose twelve disciples to preach the gospel to the whole world. Four of them (Andrew, Peter, John, James) were fishermen. (Matthew 4:18 and 21) One (Levi) of them was a tax collector. (Mark 2:14) Peter and John were unlearned men. (Acts 4:13)

If you are thinking, “God would not choose a person like me. I am of no use to the Lord,” think again. It is possible that God will choose a person like you and use you greatly.
