新型コロナウイルスのために2020年は、大混乱の年となりました。全世界で77,000,000人がコロナに感染しました。
死亡者は1,700,000人以上です。
日本各地で、最近コロナに感染した人は200,000人を超えました。死亡者は3,000人以上となりました。

パンデミックが始まってから、人々は、この質問をしました。
「コロナは、神様からのさばきですか？」多くの牧師は、そう思っています。

確かに、イスラエル人をエジプトから解放するために神様は、多くの疫病をもたらしました。
（出エジプト記7章～12章まで）
また、レビ記で神様は、イスラエルの民に警告しました。
「もしあなたがたがわたしに反抗して歩み、わたしに聞こうとしないなら、わたしはあなたがたの間に疫病を送り込む。」レビ記26:21と25

黙示録6:8によると「大患難」と呼ばれる時代に地上の四分の一が剣と飢饉と疫病のために人々が死にます。

しかし、聖書の疫病と現在のパンデミックに一つの大きな違いがあります。
聖書の疫病は、神様がなさった超自然的な出来事でした。
現在のパンデミックは、人間の失敗による大惨事です。
私は、今のパンデミックは神様からの裁きではないと信じています。

もし、多くの牧師が思っているようにパンデミックは、神様からの裁きであれば、聖書にこのパンデミックを終わらせる方法が書いてあるはずです。
私達は、この御言葉を心に留めましょう。
「私の名を呼び求めている私の民がみずからへりくだり、祈りをささげ、私の顔を慕い求め、その悪い道から立ち返るなら、私が親しく天から聞いて、彼らの罪を許し、彼らの地をいやそう。」Ⅱ歴代誌7:14

 　　 

IS THE PANDEMIC
A JUDGMENT FROM GOD?

Because of the Corona virus, 2020 has been a year of turmoil. Worldwide, 70 million people have been affected. More than 1,700,000 people have died. In Japan, recently the number of people infected with the virus went over 200,000. Over 3000 people have died.

Since the pandemic began, many people have asked this question: is the pandemic a judgment from God? Many pastors think so.

Certainly, God sent plagues to Egypt to deliver the people of Israel. (Exodus chapters 7-12) Also, in Leviticus, God warned the people of Israel, If you walk contrary to me, and will not hearken unto me, . . . I will send the pestilence among you. (26:21 and 25)

According to Revelation 6:8, during the period known as “the great tribulation,” one-fourth of the people of the world will be destroyed by the sword, famine, and pestilence.

However, there is one big difference between the plagues written in the Bible and the current pandemic. The plagues of the Bible were supernatural events caused by God. The current pandemic is a natural event caused by the failure of humans, so I do not believe that the pandemic is a judgment from God.

However, if, as many pastors think, the pandemic is a judgment from God, the method of stopping the pandemic is written in the Bible.
If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (Second Chronicles 7:14)

今日、ドラえもんの「どこでもドア」を利用してアメリカに行きましょう。
そこでは驚く事があります。なぜなら、お店ではクリスマスプレゼントを買う人達でいっぱいだからです。
2018年クリスマスの小売販売は、＄1,000,000,000,000（1兆）以上でした!

クリスマスプレゼントを買うために銀行の口座を作り、一年間お金を貯める人もいます。
今年のアメリカ人は、クリスマスプレゼントに平均＄850(85,000円）を費やすと推定されています。
クリスマスプレゼントを買うために借金する人も少なくありません。

人々は、クリスマスプレゼントに、こんなに大金を費やしているのに、最も素晴らしいクリスマスプレゼントは、無料です。本当です。
そのプレゼントは、神様が私たちを自分たちの罪から救うために与えてくださった救い主イエス・キリストです。
「神は、実に、そのひとり子をお与えになったほどに世を愛された。それは、御子を信じる者が、ひとりとして滅びることなく、永遠のいのちを持つためである。」
ヨハネの福音書3:16

私たちは、お店で素晴らしいプレゼントを買うことができますが、罪の赦しや言葉に尽くすことができない喜びや人の全ての考えに勝る平安のあるプレゼントを売っている店はありません。

このプレゼントを受けるために普通のアメリカ人がクリスマスプレゼントに使う$850もいらないし、借金する必要もありません。
神様は、自分の罪を認めて、十字架の上ですべての人々の罪のために死んでくださった救い主イエス・キリストを受け入れると、どの人にもこの賜物をくださいます。
「ことばに表せないほどの賜物のゆえに、神に感謝します。」Ⅱコリント人への手紙9:15

　　 

$1,000,000,000,000!

Today let’s use Doraemon’s [anywhere door] and go to America. If we did that, we would be amazed for certain. It is because the stores are filled with people buying Christmas presents. The retail sales for the Christmas season in 2018 was over $1,000,000,000,000!

There are people who open a bank account for Christmas presents and save money all year long. It is estimated that Americans will spend an average of $850 (85,000 yen) for Christmas presents this year. The people who go into debt to buy Christmas presents are not few.

Although people are spending this large sum of money for Christmas presents, the most wonderful Christmas present of all is free. It is true. That present is the Savior Jesus Christ that God sent to save us from our sins.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
(John 3:16)

We can buy many wonderful presents at the stores, but there is no store that sells presents like the forgiveness of sins or unspeakable joy or peace that passes all understanding.

To receive these presents, we do not need the $850 that the average American spends on Christmas presents, and there is no need to go into debt. God will give these gifts to anyone who will admit his sins and believe in the Savior Jesus Christ who died on the cross for the sins of all people.

Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift.

“鬼滅の刃”という漫画を知っていますか。
竈門 炭治郎（かまど たんじろう）という男子の物語です。
炭治郎の家族は、鬼によって殺され、彼の妹は鬼に変えられました。また、妹を人間に戻すために炭治郎は鬼を退治する勇者となりました。
英語のタイトルは「Demon Slayer」です。

この漫画は、週間“少年ジャンプ”という雑誌に掲載され、アニメのTVシリーズにもなりました。
英語にも翻訳されました。2020年12月現在、この漫画の発行部数は1億2,000万部を超えています。
日本での総売上高は少なくとも2,700億円と推定されています。
過去10年で最高のアニメの一つと絶賛されています。

もちろん、この漫画はフィクションです。
しかし、フィクションではない本当に実在する「Demon Slayer」についての物語があります。それは、聖書に書いてあるイエス・キリストについての物語です。

Ⅰヨハネの手紙によると「神の子が現れたのは、悪魔のしわざを打ちこわすためです。」Ⅰヨハネの手紙3:8
神の子イエス・キリストは本当の「Demon Slayer」です。

聖書は、全世界がサタン（悪魔）の支配下にあると教えています。（Ⅰヨハネの手紙5:19）

Ⅱコリント人への手紙4:4でサタンは「この世の神」と呼ばれています。

エペソ人への手紙によると「空中の権威を持つ支配者（サタン）」が全ての人の中に働いているので人間は、自分の肉の欲の中に生き、肉と心の望むままを行っています。
（エペソ人への手紙2:2-3)

しかし、黙示録19章と20章を読む時、私たちは「Demon Slayer」であるイエス・キリストがサタンを滅ぼす事がわかります。「悪魔は火と硫黄との池に投げ込まれた。」

DEMON SLAYER 

Do you know the comic “Demon Slayer”? It is a comic about a boy named Tanjiro. The family of Tanjiro was killed by a demon, and his sister was turned into a demon, so Tanjiro became a Demon Slayer to change his sister back into a human again.

This comic appeared in the magazine Weekly Shoonen Jump and it also became an anime series on TV. It has been translated into English too. As of December 2020, the comic had over 120 million copies in circulation. It is estimated to have generated total sales of at least ¥270 billion in Japan. It is considered to be one of the best anime of this decade.

Of course, this comic is fiction. However, there is a story that is not fiction, a story about a Demon Slayer who really exists. It is the story about Jesus Christ written in the Bible. According to First John 3:8, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. God’s Son, Jesus Christ, is the real Demon Slayer.
The Bible teaches that the whole world is under the control of Satan. (First John 5:19) In Second Corinthians 4:4, Satan (the devil) is called the god of this world. According to Ephesians 2:2-3, the prince of the power of the air (Satan) is working in all people, so we all conduct ourselves in the lust of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and the mind.
However, when we read chapters 19-20 of Revelation, we learn that our Demon Slayer, Jesus Christ, will defeat the devil.
The devil will be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone. (20:10)

高等学校を卒業してから、私は、神学校へ行く予定でした。
神学校に行く前の夏休みにアルバイトをしてお金を少し貯めました。そのお金がなくなる前に、次のアルバイトが見かると思っていました。

それから、お金がほとんどなくなった時、まだ仕事は見つかりませんでした。
さらに悪い事に病気になってしまい2～3日寝たきりでした。
ある日、お風呂に行く途中、気絶している私を見つけて、友達が部屋まで運んで助けてくれました。

起きた時、私は思いました。
「仕方がないから、私は、神学校をあきらめて家に帰ろう。そして母に電話して、帰りの交通費を送ってもらおう。」その時、聖書の個所が浮かんできました。
ピリピ人への手紙4:19でした。
「神は、キリスト・イエスにあるご自身の栄光の富を持って、あなたの必要をすべて満たしてくださいます。」
この御言葉をしばらく思い巡らして、私は、決心しました。
「ここで死んでも、あきらめません。」

次の日、友達が私の家にお見舞いに来て言いました。
「仕事が欲しいですか。私が勤めているカフェテリアで、皿洗いをする人を探しているよ。」私は、その日から卒業するまでそのカフェテリアで働く事が出来ました。

自分の人生の最も大きな一つの危機の時に、私は、神様と神様の約束に信頼する決心をしました。
あなたも、どうしようも出来ない時に、神様と神様の約束に信頼する事を怖がらないでください。

詩篇56:3でダビデは、言いました。
「恐れのある日に、私は、あなたに信頼します。」

大変な危機にあった時、ヨブは言いました。
「神が、私を殺しても、私は神を待ち望みます。」
ヨブ記13:15
英語の聖書に
「神が、私を殺しても、私は神に信頼します。」
と書いてあります。
私達もそうしましょう。

　　 

“EVEN IF I DIE, I WILL NOT QUIT”

After graduating from high school, I planned to go to Bible College, so during the summer before going to Bible College, I worked a part-time job and saved some money. I thought I would be able to find a job before the money ran out.

However, when the money was almost gone, I still did not have a job. To make matters worse, I became sick and was in bed for 2-3 days. One day, on the way to the shower room, I fainted. A friend found me and carried me back to my room.

When I awoke, I thought, “Well, there is nothing else to do. I will quit Bible College and go home. I will call my mother and have her send the bus fare.” Just then, a Bible verse came to my mind. It was Philippians 4:19. My God shall supply all of your needs through his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
After pondering these words for a while, I decided, “Even if I die here, I will not quit.”

The next day a friend entered my room and asked, “Do you need a job? The cafeteria where I work is looking for a dishwasher.” I went to work at that cafeteria that day and worked there until I graduated.

In one of the greatest crises of my life, I decided to trust in God and His promises. You too, when it seems that there is nothing you can do, do not be afraid to trust in the Lord and His promises.

In Psalm 56:3 David said,
What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
When he met a terrible crisis, Job said,
Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.
Let us do the same.
