自動ブレーキ

今年の１月に長野県軽井沢町で、加速を続けたスキー・バスが崖に転落して15人が死亡しました。
２月には大阪府の梅田で乗用車が暴走して歩道に乗り上げて、11人が死傷しました。
３月は、広島県のトンネル内で車12台の衝突事故が起き、２人が死亡し、70人以上が負傷しました。

このような事故を減らすために、アメリカ・日本・ヨーロッパの各自動車メーカー20社は2022年までに全ての車に自動ブレーキを搭載する事で合意しました。自動ブレーキはレーダーやカメラ等のセンサーで障害物を検知して車を急停車させるのです。これにより、追突事故が約40%減少すると予測されています。

同じようにクリスチャンの信仰生活でも霊的な事故を起こさないように自動ブレーキが必要です。 幸いな事に、もう既に全てのクリスチャンに霊的な自動ブレーキが付いています。
聖霊なる神様です。聖書のⅠコリント人への手紙6:19によると、聖霊は一人ひとりのクリスチャンの心に住んでおられます。

また、同じⅠコリント人への手紙の3:16に
「あなたがたは神の神殿であり、神の御霊があなたがたに宿っておられる」と書いてあります。

私達が罪に誘惑される時、心の中で罪悪感に苛まれる。
それは私達を止めようとしておられる聖霊です。私達が神様に喜ばれない事をして、主の道から離れようとする時、私達の霊的なブレーキである聖霊は私達を正しい道に導こうとして下さいます。

聖霊が私達を止めようとされる時、聖霊の声と導きに従いましょう。そうしないと、私達の信仰生活で霊的な事故が起こって、自分も周りにいる多くの人達も傷付けられるかも知れません。

      

AUTOMATIC BRAKE　

In January of this year a bus carrying ski tourists accelerated and veered off the road and down an embankment in Karuizawa in Nagano Prefecture. 15 people were killed. In February a car ran onto a sidewalk in Osaka and 11 people were killed or injured. Last month there was a 12-car collision inside a tunnel in Hiroshima Prefecture. Two people were killed and over 70 were injured.

In order to reduce the number of this kind of accidents, the automobile makers in America, Japan, and Europe have agreed to install automatic brake systems in all cars by 2022. The automatic braking system will stop cars by detecting obstacles with sensors such as radar and cameras. It is estimated that this will reduce rear-end collisions by 40 percent.

In the same way, an automatic brake is necessary to keep spiritual accidents from taking place in our Christian life. Thankfully, there is already an automatic brake system in every Christian – God the Holy Spirit. According to First Corinthians 6:19, the Holy Spirit dwells in each Christian. In 3:16 of the same letter it says,
Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

When we are tempted by sin, we sense guilt in our heart. That’s the Holy Spirit trying to stop us. When we about to do something that is not pleasing to the Lord and stray from His path, our spiritual brake, the Holy Spirit, tries to lead us to the right path.

When the Holy Spirit tries to stop us, let’s obey His voice and leadership. If we don’t, a spiritual accident may occur in our Christian life and both we and many people around us may be injured.
