なぜ、ドアが開かない？

私は、下曽根駅まで電車の前売り切符を買いに行きました。
エレベーターに乗って2階のボタンを押しました。そしてエレベーターが2階に止まったが、ドアが開きませんでした。しばらく待ってから、私は不思議に思いました。「変ですね。なぜドアが開かない？」
私は周りを見て、自分の後のドアが開いている事に気付きました。その時、理解できました。そのエレベーターは乗った時のドアからではなく、反対側（後）のドアから降りなければなりませんでした。
私は、丁度その時にエレベーターに一緒に乗った人がいなかった事を感謝しました。なぜなら、もし誰かに開かないドアの前に立っているのを見られたら、とても恥ずかしい思いをしたでしょう。

私は、自分の信仰生活の中で何回も同じ経験にあった事があります。
そして何かの目標を目指して進んで行きましたが、ある所で開かないドアにぶつかりました。

使徒パウロにも同じ経験がありました。彼はアジヤで伝道するつもりでしたが、そのドアは開きませんでした。（使徒の働き16:6-10)

デイヴィッド・リヴィングストンと言う有名な宣教師にも同じ様な経験がありました。 彼は中国で伝道しようとしたが、そのドアは開きませんでした。
自分の前のドアが開かない時、どうすればよいのでしょうか。 神様は他のドアを開けておられるかどうか、よく祈って確かめて下さい。

パウロはアジヤのドアに入る事ができませんでしたが、神様はヨーロッパのドアを開けて下さいました。リヴィングストン宣教師は中国のドアに入る事ができませんでしたが、神様はアフリカのドアを開けて下さいました。

今同じ経験に遭っている皆さんにお勧めします。
神様の御心を知っていると思ったのに、今どうしても開かないドアの前に立っているなら、箴言3:5-6の言葉を思い出して下さい。
「心を尽くして主に拠り頼め。自分の悟りにたよるな。 あなたの行く所どこにおいても、主を認めよ。そうすれば、主はあなたの道をまっすぐにされる。」

　　　　
WHY WON’T THE DOOR OPEN？　

I went to the train station to buy some tickets. I got on the elevator and pushed the button for the second floor. The elevator stopped at the second floor, but the door did not open. After waiting a while, I wondered, “This is strange. Why won’t the door open?”

I looked around and noticed that the door behind me was open, and then I understood. When you ride that elevator, you exit from the opposite door. I was thankful that no one was waiting to get on the elevator. If someone had seen me standing in front of a door that would not open, I would have been embarrassed.

I have experienced the same thing in my Christian life more than once. I headed for a goal but ran into a door that would not open. The Apostle Paul had the same experience. He intended to evangelize in Asia, but the door would not open. (Acts 16:6-10) The famous missionary, David Livingstone, had the same experience. He wanted to evangelize in China, but the door would not open.

When the door in front of us will not open, what should we do? We should pray and determine if God has opened another door. Paul was not able to evangelize in Asia, but God opened the door of Europe. Livingstone was not able to evangelize in China, but God opened the door of Africa.

If you are in the same situation, let me encourage you. You thought you knew the will of God, but right now you are standing in front of a door that will not open.
If so, remember the words in Proverbs 3:5-6.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
