また、４階！

先日、調布教会の近くのホテルに泊まった時、
部屋は６階にありました。
朝食のレストランは２階にありました。私はエレベーターに乗って、2階のボタンを押しました。
エレベーターが止まって降りました。しかし、その階にレストランはありませんでした。
なぜなら、ある事を考え込んでいた私は２階ではなく４階で降りたからです。
私はエレベーターが再び来るのを待って、そして2階に行きました。

また、２日後に同じ事が起こりました。
私は2階に行くつもりで、また4階で降りて、エレベーターが4階に戻るまで待たなければなりませんでした。エレベーターのドアが開いた時、朝食券を持っている２人の男性が降りようとしましたが、私は「この階は、違います」と言って、そして私達は笑いながら2階に行きました。
2回とも私はエレベーターが何階に止まったかどうか見ずに降りてしまいました。

時々クリスチャンにも同じ様な事があります。目を覚まして今現在、自分が歩んでいる道は正しい道かどうか注意しないので、行きたくない所に行って主に喜ばれない事をしてしまいます。
こう言う理由で、聖書はよく私達に目を覚ます事、また注意する事を勧めています。

例えば、ヨブ記36:21に
「悪に向かわないように注意せよ。」と書いてあります。

そして、エペソ人への手紙5:15-17にこう書いてあります。
「そういうわけですから、賢くない人のようにではなく、賢い人のように歩んでいるかどうか、よくよく注意し、 機会を十分に生かして用いなさい。悪い時代だからです。 ですから、愚かにならないで、主のみこころは何であるかを、よく悟りなさい。」

今日、目を覚まして、今自分が正しい方向に行っているかどうか確かめましょう。そうしないと、2回も行きたくない4階に行った私と同じ様に、あなたも後悔する様になるかも知れません。
「目をさまして、正しい生活を送り、罪をやめなさい。」

THE FOURTH FLOOR – AGAIN！　

When I stayed at the hotel near the Chofu church, my room was on the 6th floor. The room for breakfast was on the 2nd floor. I entered the elevator and pushed the button for the 2nd floor. When the elevator stopped, I got off. However, there was no restaurant on that floor. Because I was deep in thought, instead of getting off on the 2nd floor, I got off on the 4th floor. I waited for the elevator to come back and I went to the 2nd floor.

Two days later the same thing happened. Intending to go to the 2nd floor, I got off on the 4th floor and had to wait for the elevator to return. When the elevator doors opened, two men with breakfast tickets in their hands started to get off. I told them, “Wrong floor,” and we rode laughing down to the 2nd floor.

Twice I got off of the elevator without looking at which floor it had stopped. Sometimes the same kind of thing happens to Christians. Because we are not careful to open our eyes and make certain that the road we are walking is the right road, we go to a place where we do not want to go and end up doing something that does not please the Lord.

For this reason, the Bible exhorts us to open our eyes and be careful. For example, in Job 36:21 it is written,
Take heed, do not turn to iniquity.

Also, in Ephesians 5:15-17 these words are written.
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

Today let’s open our eyes and make certain we are headed in the right direction. If not, just as I went twice to the 4th floor where I did not want to go, we may come to regret it.

Awake to righteousness, and do not sin.
