斉藤雄典先生の最後の説教

５月３１日に私の敬愛する友達、斉藤雄典先生が天に召されました。先生の息子さんが私に斉藤先生の最後のメッセージのCDを下さいました。先生はかなり弱っていて、座って説教しました。
しかし、彼はいつもの力強い声で50分位のメッセージをされました。
説教のタイトルは「信仰の試煉によって神様に栄光を帰す」でした。
内容は、どの様な環境や状況の中にあっても主なる神様を褒め讃える信仰でした。
これは、その説教の二つの引用です。
「年齢は関係ありません。状況も関係ありません。環境も関係ありません。信仰によって、主の御名によってやるのです。神様は必ず祈りに答えて下さいます。だから、あなたの職場でどんな状況、どんな環境、どんな人間関係であろうと、あなたが信仰により、主の御名によって神の愛を基にして、やるのであれば、勝利できるといいたいのです。」
「私は、自分が体験し、経験した中で、御言葉が真実であると言いたいのです」

説教の最後のところで、先生は二つの聖書の箇所を読みました。
「あらゆる恵みに満ちた神、すなわち、あなたがたをキリストにあってその永遠の栄光の中に招き入れてくださった神ご自身が、あなたがたをしばらくの苦しみのあとで完全にし、堅く立たせ、強くし、不動の者としてくださいます。」
Ⅰペテロの手紙5:10

「私のあなたがたに対する信頼は大きいのであって、私はあなたがたを大いに誇りとしています。私は慰めに満たされ、どんな苦しみの中にあっても喜びに満ちあふれています。」Ⅱコリント人への手紙7:4

そして、説教を閉じる前に、先生は言いました。
「私は今とても喜んでいます。すごく喜んで感謝しています」
私達も、どの様な状況の中でも、喜んで神様を褒め讃える信仰を目指しましょう。

　　　　
　
PASTOR YUUSUKE SAITOH’S
LAST SERMON　

On May 31st my dear friend Pastor Yuusuke Saitoh went home to be with the Lord. His son, Brother Katsuya, gave me a CD of Pastor Saitoh’s last sermon.

He was already extremely weak, so he preached sitting in a chair. However, in his usual, powerful voice he preached for 50 minutes. The title of his message was “Giving Glory to God through the Trials of Faith.” The content of the message was faith that would praise God in all kinds of circumstances or environments.

Here are two excerpts from that sermon: “I want to tell you that it doesn’t have anything to do with age. It doesn’t have anything to do with the environment. It doesn’t have anything to do with the circumstances either. We have to do it by faith in the name of the Lord. God will without fail answer our prayer. Therefore, no matter what kind of circumstances you experience at your place of work, no matter the environment, no matter your relations with other people, if you do it with love by faith in the name of the Lord, you can gain the victory.”

“I want to tell you that in all that I experienced, the Word of God was true.”

Near the end of his sermon he quoted two passages of Scripture.
But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
(First Peter 5:10)

Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort. I am exceedingly joyful in all our tribulation.
(Second Corinthians 7:4)

Just before he ended the sermon he said,
“Now I am very joyful. I am thankful and extremely joyful.”
Let us too aim for a faith that can rejoice and praise God in all kinds of circumstances.
