「気持ちも体も気力も」全部出し切った女性

今年の4月にフィギュアスケートの
浅田真央さんは引退を発表しました。
浅田さんは3回もフィギュアスケートの世界大会で優勝しました。
2010年にカナダで行われたオリンピックで銀メダルを獲得しました。

私は、国民的人気を誇る浅田さんが引退記者会見の時に言ったすばらしい言葉に感動しました。
まず、彼女は「スケートは私の人生」と表現しました。
そして、私は特に彼女のこの言葉はすばらしいと思いました。
「気持ちも体も気力も、全部出し切った」
言いかえれば「私は、はベストを尽くした」

彼女の言葉を読んだ時、私は聖書に書いてある使徒パウロの言葉を思い出しました。
ピリピ人への手紙1:21で彼は言いました。
「私にとって生きことはキリストです」
ガラテヤ人への手紙2:20でパウロはこの言葉の意味を説明しました。
「私はキリストとともに十字架につけられました。もはや私が生きているのではなく、キリストが私のうちに生きておられるのです。いま私が、この世に生きているのは、私を愛し私のためにご自身をお捨てになった神の御子を信じる信仰によっているのです。」

私が思い出したもう一つの箇所はⅡテモテへの手紙4:7です。
「私は勇敢に戦い、走るべき道のりを走り終え、信仰を守り通しました。」

パウロもキリストのために気持ちも体も気力も出し切りました。
もし私達もキリストを私達の人生の中心にして、神様のために全てを出し切ったら、主の前から見て、私達もあ浅田さんのようなチャンピオンになる事ができます。

聖歌565番「みなささげまつり」の繰り返しを私達の決心の言葉にしましょう。

THE LADY WHO DID HER BEST　

In April of this year figure skater Mao Asada announced her retirement. She won the figure skating World Championship three times and won a silver medal at the 2010 Olympics held in Canada.

When Asada, who could boast of national popularity, announced her retirement at a press conference, I was moved by her wonderful words. She stated, “Skating is my life.” I especially thought these words were wonderful. “I used up all of my feeling, body, and spirit.” In other words, “I did my best.”

When I read her words, I remembered some words of Paul written in the Bible. In Philippians 1:21 he wrote,
For to me to live is Christ.
His words in Galatians 2:20 explain the meaning of those words.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

The other passage that I remembered is Second Timothy 4:7.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
Paul too used all of his feeling and body and spirit for Christ.

If we too make Christ the center of our life and do our best for God, in His sight, we can be a champion like Mao Asada.
