永遠の火が消えた！

知っていますか？
1964年の東京オリンピックの聖火は4年前に消えました。
2020年のオリンピックが東京に決まった際に、日本のマスメディアは鹿児島県のスポーツ設備で守られている1964年の聖火に関心を持ちました。しかし、彼等が聖火の事を尋ねた時、その聖火を管理していた職員は聖火が2013年11月21日に消えた事を認めました。東京オリンピックの聖火リレーで使われた種火を譲り受けたものをランタンに入れて保管していて、火が消えることがないように職員が灯油をつぎ足しながら守り続けてきましたが管理がうまくいかず、この火が消えてしまったということです。
オリンピックの聖火は「Eternal Flame」「永遠の火」と呼ばれていますが、その火が消えてしまいました。

しかし聖書によると決して消える事のない永遠のものがあります。
まず、まことの神様の存在は消える事のない永遠の存在です。

詩篇90:2に「山々が生まれる前から、あなたが地と世界とを生み出す前から、まことに、とこしえからとこしえまであなたは神です。」と書いてあります。

私たちの上にある神様の愛は決して消える事のない永遠の愛です。
「しかし、主の恵みは、とこしえから、とこしえまで、主を恐れる者の上にある。」詩篇 103:17

神様が救い主イエスキリストを信じる人々に与えてくださる救いは決して消える事のない永遠の救いです。「罪から来る報酬は死です。しかし、神の下さる賜物は、私たちの主キリスト・イエスにある永遠のいのちです。」ローマ人への手紙6:23

神様の御言葉は決して消える事のない永遠の御言葉です。
マタイの福音書24:35でキリストは言われました。「この天地は滅び去ります。しかし、わたしのことばは決して滅びることがありません。」

この世のものは全部、消えてしまったオリンピック聖火と同じように、はかないものです。
私たちの望みをそのようなものに置かないで、永遠の神様の「永遠の愛・永遠の救い・永遠の言葉」に望みを置きましょう。

　　　　

THE ETERNAL FLAME WENT OUT！

The 1964 Tokyo Olympic flame went out four years ago.

When the 2020 Olympics were awarded to Tokyo, the media became interested in the 1964 Olympic flame that was housed in a sports facility in Kagoshima Prefecture. However, when they asked about the flame, an official admitted that the flame had gone out on November 21, 2013.

The Olympic flame is called the “Eternal Flame,” but it died out. However, according to the Bible, there are things that shall never die out.

First, the existence of the true God is an existence that shall never die out.
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God. (Psalm 90:2)

The mercy of God toward us is an eternal mercy that shall never die out.
The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him. (Psalm 103:17)

The salvation that God gives to the person who believes in the Savior Jesus Christ is an eternal salvation that shall never die out.
The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

The Word of God is an eternal Word that shall never die out. In Matthew 24:35 Christ said,
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.

Everything in this world is a fleeting thing like the Olympic flame. Instead of putting our hope in those kinds of things, let’s put our hope in the eternal mercy and the eternal salvation and the eternal Word of the eternal God.
