日曜クリスチャン

おそらく「日曜大工」と言う言葉を聞いた事があると思います。もちろん、日曜大工は“休みの日”だけ大工の仕事をする人です。
アメリカに似ている表現があります。「Sunday driver」と言う言葉です。“日曜日”だけ車を運転する人です。この「Sunday driver」の特徴は二つあります。まず、不注意な運転をする人です。例えば、曲がる時ウインカーを出さない。また、制限速度よりも遅く走行して他の運転手に迷惑をかける人です。
「日曜大工」と「日曜ドライバー」の他に「日曜クリスチャン」もいます。日曜クリスチャンは日曜日に教会に行って、皆さんと一緒に賛美したり、聖書を読んだり、祈ったり、神様に仕えるけど、月曜日から土曜日までこのような行動をしないクリスチャンです。
「日曜クリスチャン」にならないために次の事を毎日しましょう。
1.ダビデと同じように、毎日祈りましょう。
　「私は日ごとにあなたを呼び求めています。」
　　詩篇88:9
2.ベレヤの信者達と同じように、毎日聖書を読みましょう。
　 「ここのユダヤ人は、非常に熱心にみことばを聞き、はたしてそのとおりかどうかと毎日聖書を調べた。」
　使徒の働き17:11
3.エルサレムの信者達と同じように、毎日神様の証人になりましょう。
　「毎日、宮や家々で教え、イエスがキリストであることを宣べ伝え続けた。」使徒の働き5:42

キリストが言われた事は「日曜日だけ、わたしついてきなさい」 ではなく 「だれでもわたしについて来たいと思うなら、自分を捨て、日々自分の十字架を負い、そしてわたしについて来なさい。」でした。 (ルカの福音書9:23）

　　　　 

SUNDAY CHRISTIANS　

You have heard the expression “Nichiyou daiku” (Sunday carpenter), haven’t you? Of course, a Sunday carpenter is someone who does carpentry only on the weekend.

In America, we have a similar expression – “Sunday driver.” A Sunday driver is a person who drives only on Sunday. There are two characteristics of Sunday drivers. First, they drive carelessly. For example, when they turn, they do not turn on the turn signal. Also, they drive much slower than the speed limit and irritate other drivers.

In addition to Sunday carpenters and Sunday drivers, there are also Sunday Christians. On Sunday they come to church and sing, read the Bible, pray, and serve the Lord with everyone, but from Monday through Saturday, they do not do any of these things. To avoid being a Sunday Christian, let’s do the following things daily:

1.Like David, let’s pray daily.
Lord, I have called daily upon You. (Psalm 88:9)

2.Like the believers in Berea, let’s read the Bible daily.
They received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
(Acts 17:11)

3.Like the believers in Jerusalem, let’s be the Lord’s witnesses daily.
And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ. (Acts 5:42)

Christ did not say,
If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross only on Sunday, and follow Me. He said, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. (Luke 9:23)
