教会の借金

現在、小倉教会は広い土地と舗装した駐車場ときれいな会堂が与えられて喜んでいます。
しかし、新会堂を建てるために借りたお金を返すまで、計画が完了したと言えません。
借金が残っている限り私たちは毎月忠実に献金を主に捧げなければなりません。
また、主の導きと祝福に応じて、返済のための特別献金を捧げましょう。

教会には、もう一つの借金があります。この借金は新しい教会を建てるために借りたお金よりも大切な借金です。なぜなら、それは経済的な借金ではなくて霊的な借金です。全ての人々に福音を宣べ伝える責任です。

使徒パウロは、教会の霊的な借金をこの言葉で説明しました。
「私は、ギリシヤ人にも未開人にも、知識のある人にも知識のない人にも、返さなければならない負債を負っています。」ロ－マ人への手紙1:14
福音を聞いて、キリストを信じる信仰によって救われた小倉教会の一人ひとりの兄弟、姉妹は同じ負債を負っています。これは私達がどうしても返さなければならない霊的な借金です。

Ⅰコリント人絵の手紙9:16でパウロは書きました。
「私が福音を宣べ伝えても、それは私の誇りにはなりません。そのことは、私がどうしても、しなければならないことだからです。」

私達も同じ態度をとりましょう。福音を宣べ伝える責任は時間やお金があれば果たす責任ではなくて、私達がどうしても果たさなければならない責任です。
絶えずこの霊的な借金を覚えながら、奉仕や献金や伝道を通して、福音をこの地方のあらゆる所に広めましょう。また、献金と祈りを通して国内の開拓伝道と海外宣教の伝道者を支えましょう。
いつか、新会堂の借金を全部返済しますが、まだ福音を聞いた事のない人が一人でもいる限り、私達の霊的な借金が残ります。

　　　　

THE DEBT OF THE CHURCH　

Kokura BBC is enjoying the wide property, the smooth parking lot, and the beautiful church. However, until we repay the money that we borrowed to build the church, we cannot say that our plan has been completed. Until we pay off our debt, let’s faithfully give our offerings to the Lord each month.

The church has another debt. It is a debt that is more important than the money we borrowed to build the church, for it is not a financial debt but a spiritual debt. It is the responsibility to preach the gospel to all people.

The apostle Paul explained the spiritual debt of the church in these words.
I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and to unwise. (Romans 1:14)
Every member of Kokura BBC who heard the gospel and was saved by faith in Christ has the same debt. This is a spiritual debt that we must repay by all means.

In First Corinthians 9:16 Paul wrote,
For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel!
(The Japanese Bible translates the expression, “for necessity is laid upon me” as “it is something I must do.”) Let’s have the same attitude. Preaching the gospel is not something we do if we have the time or money; rather, it is a responsibility that we must fulfill.

Constantly remembering this spiritual debt, through service and offerings and evangelism, let’s spread the gospel to every place in this area. Also, through offerings and prayers, let’s support the evangelists who are doing pioneer evangelism in Japan and overseas evangelism.

Some day we shall repay all of the money that we borrowed for the new church; however, as long as there is one person who has never heard the gospel, our spiritual debt will remain.
