私はすごい！

先日私は運転免許の更新をするために、認知機能検査の学科試験を受けなければなりませんでした。
その試験で94点を取得しました。
後日、同じ検査試験を受けた友達に会いました。
そして彼の得点は76点でした。
その日、自慢しながら家に帰りました。「私はすごい！」

一週間後、今度は実技の運転試験を受けました。
同乗した二人の女性はあまり上手に運転できませんでした。
最後に運転した私はほとんど完璧に運転する事ができました。
その日も私は自慢しながら家に帰りました。「私はすごい！」

運転を他の人と比べて自慢した私と同じように、ある人は自分の生き方を他の人と比べて自慢します。
例えば「私は完璧な人間ではありませんが、私は多くの人よりも正しい生き方をしています」それが事実であっても、その考え方に大きな間違いがあります。
なぜなら、私達が神様の前に立つ時、神様は私達を他の人と比べないで、一度も罪を犯さなかったイエス・キリストと比べられるので、誰一人して「私はすごい！」と言えません。

キリストの基準に及ばない私達は清い神様が住んでおられる天国に入る事ができません。
しかし、愛に満ちておられる神様は私達を助けて下さる救い主を与えて下さいました。
イエス・キリストは十字架の上で私達の罪のために死んで下さいました。
キリストを信じる者が神様の前に立つ時、
神様は「あなたの得点は100点です。どうぞ私の国に入りなさい」と言って下さいます。

「神は、罪を知らない方を、私たちの代わりに罪とされました。それは、私たちが、この方にあって、神の義となるためです。」

I AM TERRIFIC !　

In order to renew my driver’s license, I had to take a senility test. My score was 94. A couple of days later, I met a friend who took the same test. His score was 76. That day I drove home boasting, “I am terrific!”

A week later I took the driving test. The two ladies who took the test with me were not very good drivers. I took the test last and went through the course almost perfectly. That day too I drove home boasting, “I am terrific!”

Just as I compared my driving with the driving of other people and boasted, some people compare their lives with other people and boast. “I am not a perfect person, but my way of living is much better than many other people.” Even if that is true, there is a big problem in that way of thinking because when we stand before God, He will not compare us with other people. He will compare us with Jesus Christ who never sinned even once, so no one will be able to say, “I am terrific.” (Hebrews 4:15)

Because we are not able to measure up to the standard of Christ, we will not be able to enter heaven. However, a loving God sent a Savior to help us. Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, so when the person who believes in Christ stands before God, God will say, “Your score is 100. Come on in to my country.”

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (Second Corinthians 5:21)
