黄色い足跡

アメリカに“Parris Island”と言う有名な海兵訓練所があります。5月に私は孫の卒業式に出席するために“Parris Island”に行きました。
卒業式が終了して、孫は私をとても有名な所に連れて行ってくれました。黄色い足跡が道に列んでいる場所でした。
新兵が“Parris Island”に到着すると彼らはバスを降りて、その黄色い足跡の上に立ちます。
そして、彼等の訓練教官はこの訓示をします。
「今、あなたがたは全世界の最も優秀な兵力の一人になる最初の一歩を踏み出しました！」

イエス・キリストを信じる信仰によってクリスチャンになった人の訓練も足跡で始まります。
しかし、その足跡は黄色い足跡ではありません。赤い足跡です。
私達を救うために御自分の清い血を流してくださったイエス・キリストの足跡です。
Ⅰペテロの手紙2:21に
「キリストも、あなたがたのために苦しみを受け、その足跡に従うようにと、あなたがたに模範を残されました。」
と書いてあります。

海兵隊員になるための訓練は非情に厳しい訓練です。
最近、私の孫は45㎏の荷物を運びながら19㎞を歩かなければなりませんでした。
クリスチャンにも、キリストの足跡に従うために、運ばなければならないものがあります。

マタイの福音書16:24でイエスは言われました。
「だれでもわたしについて来たいと思うなら、自分を捨て、自分の十字架を負い、そしてわたしについて来なさい。」

　ゆびもふれざりし　わがみなりき
　その十字架はいま　われにもあり

YELLOW FOOTPRINTS　

In America there is a famous Marine training facility called Parris Island. In May I went there to attend the graduation of my grandson. After the graduation, my grandson took me to a very famous place. It s a place where yellow footprints are lined up on the road.

When a new recruit arrives at Parris Island, He gets off of the bus and stands on those yellow footprints. Then his drill instructor makes this speech:
“You have just taken the first step to be a member of the finest military force in the world.”

The training of those who become Christians through faith in Jesus Christ also begins with a footprint. However, that footprint is not a yellow footprint. It is a red footprint. It is the footprint of Jesus Christ who shed His pure blood to save us.

In First Peter 2;21 it is written,
Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps.

The training to become a Marine is extremely severe training. Recently my grandson had to walk 12 miles carrying 100 pounds of equipment. In order to follow the steps of Jesus, there is something every Christian should carry. In Matthew 16:24 Jesus said,
If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

♬[Must Jesus bear the cross alone and all the world go free?
No, there’s a cross for everyone, and there’s a cross for me.

The consecrated cross I’ll bear till death shall set me free
And then go home my crown to wear, for there’s a crown for me.] ♪
