最も恐ろしい言葉

最近アメリカで行われたアンケート調査に
この質問がありました。
「あなたにとって、最も恐ろしい言葉は何ですか?」
多くの人々は「死」とか「失敗」と か「借金」と答えました。
面白いことに「結婚」と答えた人々もいました。
この質問を学生達にすると、彼等は「試験」と答えるかも知れません。
日本人にこの質問をすれば、多くの人々は「地震」「津波」「台風」と答えるでしょう。
日本の昔の諺によると最も恐ろしいものは「地震・雷・火事・親父」です。
アンケートの結果によると、多くの人々にとって、最も恐ろしい言葉は「癌」です。
18年前に医者が私に「癌です」と言われ時、恐怖で圧倒されました。

確かに「死」「地震」「癌」は恐ろしい言葉ですが、聖書に最も恐ろしい言葉が書いてあります。

例えば、ヨハネの福音書3:36に
「御子を信じる者は永遠のいのちを持つが、御子に聞き従わない者は、いのちを見ることがなく、神の怒りがその上にとどまる。」と書いてあります。
（御子はイエス・キリストの事です）

黙示録20:15に書いてあるこの言葉も恐ろしい言葉です。
「いのちの書に名のしるされていない者はみな、この火の池に投げ込まれた。」

この恐ろしい言葉を知っているクリスチャンは家族や友達に福音を熱心に伝えるべきです。
そして、このメッセージを読む人々の中にまだキリストを信じていない人がいれば、この恐ろしい裁きから救われる方法があると分って下さい。
その方法とは十字架の上であなたの罪のために死んでくださったキリストを信じる事です。

「神は、実に、そのひとり子をお与えになったほどに、世を愛された。それは御子を信じる者が、ひとりとして滅びることなく、永遠のいのちを持つためである。」

THE MOST TERRIFYING WORD 

This question was on a poll conducted in America. “To you, what is the most terrifying word?” Many people replied “death” or “failure” or “debt.” Interestingly, some people replied “marriage.”

If you asked this question to students, they may reply “test.” If you asked this question to Japanese, they would probably answer “earthquake” or “tsunami” or “typhoon.”
According to an ancient Japanese proverb, the four most terrifying things are “earthquakes, lightning, fires, and father.”

According to the results of the poll, to many people, the most terrifying word is “cancer.” 18 years ago, when the doctor said to me, “It is cancer,” I was overwhelmed with fear.

Certainly words like “death” or “earthquake” or “cancer” are terrifying words, but in the Bible there are words that are more terrifying. For example, in John 3:36 it is written,
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

In Revelation 20:15 too there are terrifying words.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Christians who know these terrifying words should preach the gospel zealously to their family and friends, and, if among the people who read this message there are people who have not yet believed in Christ, please know that there is a way to be saved from this terrible judgment. It is to believe in Christ who died on the cross for your sins.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(John 3:16)
