ギリギリ

飛行機で旅行に行く時、私は余裕を持って少し早く空港に行きます。先週、沖縄に行く12:45の飛行機に乗るために11:15に着きました。その日、乗客が少なかったので、すぐチェックインして、ゆっくりゲートまで歩く事ができました。

そして月曜日に福岡に帰る時11:10の飛行機に乗るために10:00に着きました。
しかし、那覇空港内に入って、ビックリしました。乗客で混雑していました。とても長い列に並びました。ようやくチェックインができた時すでに10:50でした。急ぎ足でゲートまで行き、ギリギリ飛行機に乗れました。ギリギリの旅行はとても嫌です。

ギリギリの信仰生活も良くありません。
Ⅱコリント人への手紙5:10によると
「私たちはみな、キリストのさばきの座に現われて、善であれ悪であれ、各自その肉体にあってした行為に応じて報いを受けることになります。」　
この事を知っているクリスチャンは、キリストの裁きの座に現れる直前まで待たないで、日々御言葉と祈りによって神様に清めていただきます。
Ⅰヨハネの手紙2:28にこの勧めが書いてあります。
「そこで、子どもたちよ。キリストのうちにとどまっていなさい。それは、キリストが現われるとき、私たちが信頼を持ち、その来臨のときに、御前で恥じ入るということのないためです。」

ギリギリの救いも良くありません。箴言27:1に
「あすのことを誇るな。一日のうちに何が起こるか、あなたは知らないからだ。」と書いてあります。
まだキリストを自分自身の救い主として受けいれていない皆さん、キリストの再臨や自分が死ぬ時まで、ギリギリ待たないで一日も早くキリストを信じてください。
「主を求めよ。お会いできる間に。近くにおられるうちに、呼び求めよ。」イザヤ書55:6

ギリギリ空港に行って飛行機に乗り遅れる事は大変な事ですが、待ち過ぎて天国に行けなくなる事はもっと大変な事です。

　　　 

AT THE LAST MOMENT　

Whenever I go somewhere by plane, I arriver at the airport quite early. When I went to Okinawa last week, I arrived at 11:15 for a 12:45 flight. There weren’t many people there, so I was able to check in and walk slowly to my gate.

When I returned to Fukuoka on Monday, I arrived at 10:00 for an 11:10 flight. When I entered the Okinawa airport, I was surprised. There were many, many people. I got in a long, long line. When I finally was able to check in, it was already 10:50. I walked as quickly as I could to the gate and was able to board the plane at the last moment. I do not like at-the-last-moment travel.

An at-the-last-moment Christian life is not good either. According to Second Corinthians 5:10, we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. The Christian who knows this will not wait until the last moment before they will appear before the judgment seat of Christ but will be cleansed daily by the Lord through prayer and the Word of God. There is this exhortation in First John 2:28: little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.

An at-the-last-moment salvation is also not good. In Proverbs 27:1 it is written, Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth, so those of you who have not yet received Christ as your personal Savior, do not wait until the last moment before the second coming of Christ or your death. Believe in Christ as soon as possible.
Seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. (Isaiah 55:6)

It is a terrible thing to miss your flight because you went to the airport at the last moment, but it is even terrible to not be able to go to heaven because you waited too long.
