キリストの痛み

新年早々私は、つまずいてイスにぶつけて手を痛めました。その時は痛くなかったが親指が、徐々に痛み出したので病院に行きました。医者はレントゲンを撮って結果は親指と手首の間の関節が少し外れているとの事でした医者は親指を支える固定具をくれました。徐々に良くなってきましたが、まだ少し痛みがあります。

手の痛みのゆえに最近私は、私たちのために十字架につけられたキリストの痛みを考えさせられました。医学の専門家によるとキリストは3つの種類の傷を受けられました。

まず打撲傷：マタイの福音書26:67に
「彼らは、イエスの顔をこぶしでなぐりつけた」
と書いてあります。

そして裂傷：マタイの福音書27:26によると、彼らは、イエスにむち打ちをしました。兵士は39回も皮ひもの先端に鋭利な金属・骨の小片などが固定されたむちで打ったのでイエスの背中の肉はズタズタに切り裂かれました。

さらに刺し傷：兵士たちが釘でイエスを十字架につけたときイエスは手と足に刺し傷を受けました。
ヨハネの福音書19:33-34によるとイエスは脇腹にも刺し傷を受けました。
また、兵士たちがイエスにいばらの冠をかぶらせたとき、イエスは頭にも刺し傷を受けました。

私は、十字架にかけられたイエスの絵をたくさん見たことがあるけど、イエスの傷だらけの体を充分に描いた絵をまだ見たことがありません。

キリストは「私たちのそむきの罪のために刺し通され、私たちの咎のために砕かれた。彼への懲らしめが私たちに平安をもたらし、彼の打ち傷によって、私たちはいやされた」イザヤ書53:5
私たちは一日もこの事を忘れてはいけません。

THE WOUNDS OF CHRIST 

During the New Year holidays, I tripped and crashed into a chair and hurt my hand. It did not hurt at the time I hit the chair, but it began to hurt more and more, so I went to the doctor. He took an x-ray and told me that there was a slight separation of the joint between my thumb and my wrist. He gave me a brace to support the thumb for two weeks. My hand is much better, but it still hurts now and then.

Because of the pain in my hand, lately I have been made to consider the pain of Christ when He was crucified. According to medical experts, Jesus suffered three kinds of wounds.

First, bruises. In Matthew 26:67 it is written that the soldiers beat the face of Christ with their fists.

Also, lacerations. According to Matthew 27:26, Jesus was scourged. The soldier beat Him 39 times with a whip that had bone and metal attached to it, so the back of Jesus was torn to shreds.

Also, puncture wounds. When the soldiers crucified Jesus with nails, He received puncture wounds in His hands and feet. According to John 19:33-34, He received a puncture wound in His side. When the soldiers placed the crown of thorns on His head, He received puncture wounds in His head.

I have seen many pictures of Christ on the cross, but I have yet to see a picture that fully describes His wounded body.

He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. With his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5) We must not forget this even one day.
