神様の計画が私たちの計画と違うとき

私は、今日少しがっかりしています。
なぜなら、５年間小倉教会で一緒に働いてくださったワイエット先生ご家族は昨日（28日）にアメリカに帰りました。
一年間のファーロの後、彼らは九州に戻りますが小倉教会には戻りません。

私たちが立てた計画によると、私が引退してから、ワイエット先生は教会の指導者になるはずでした。
しかし、神様の計画は、違う計画でした。
神様はワイエット先生に九州で別の所で開拓伝道をするようにお導きになりました。
これで、だれが私の後任者になるかわかりません。
今私たちは小倉教会のための神様の計画がわりません。
しかし私たちは、このことを確信しています。神様が立てた計画は、私たちの計画にまさる計画です。

このことを知っている人は少ないと思いますが、私と妻は2008年の春に引退するつもりでした。もし私が計画通りに引退したならば、小倉教会は５～６人しかいない無牧の教会になってしまうところでした。
しかし、2007年の秋に妻が突然天に召されてから、私は引退を延ばして日本に残るように導かれました。

そのときからの13年の間、神様の計画が私の計画に勝る計画であったことを知ることができました。
3年前に小倉教会は10人もいない教会でしたが、この13年の間、もっと多くの人達が教会に加わりました。
13年前に私たちはとても古い建物で集会を開きましたが、今私たちは、とても美しい会堂に集っています。

神様が私たちの教会のためにどんなことを計画しておられるかわかりませんが、それは、きっと私たちの想像以上の計画になることに違いがありません。
「わたしはあなたがたのために立てている計画をよく知っている。それは平安を与える計画であり、あなたがたに将来と希望を与えるためのものだ。」
エレミヤ書29:11

　　 

WHEN GOD’S PLAN AND
OUR PLAN ARE DIFFERENT

I am a little discouraged today. The Wyatt family who worked with us for five years at the Kokura church returned to America yesterday (4/28). After a year of furlough, they will return to Kyushu, but they will not return to the Kokura church.

According to our plan, after I retired, the Wyatts would become the leaders of the church. However, the plan of God was a different plan. God has led them to do pioneer evangelism in another area of Kyushu, so now we do not know who my successor will be. At the present time we do not know the plan of God; however, we are confident that the plan of God will be better than our plan.

Not many people know this, but my wife and I intended to retire in the spring of 2008. If we had retired then as we planned, the Kokura church would have become a church of only 5-6 people with no pastor. After my wife suddenly went home to be with the Lord in the fall of 2007, I was led to stay in Japan.

In the 13 years since then, I have learned that the plan of God was better than my plan. 13 years ago, there were less than ten people in the church, but during these 13 years many more people have been added to the church. 13 years ago, we were holding services in a very old building. Now we are gathering in a very beautiful auditorium.

We do not know what God is planning for our church, but there is no doubt that it will be a plan that surpasses our imagination.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you, plans to give you hope and a future.”(Jeremiah 29:11)
