自分自身との会話

携帯電話をなくして見つからない時、私は、いいことを思いつきました。
他に固定電話があるので、自分に電話をかけてみました。
寝室で鳴っている携帯電話が見つかり、しばらく自分自身と会話をしていました。

左手に携帯電話を持って、右手に固定電話を持ちながら、私は、自分自身と通話しました。「お元気ですか?」
そして私は、自分自身に答えました。「はい。元気です。」
こうして1分間位、自分自身と会話をしました。

私が、すでに気が狂っていると思うでしょう。
いいえ、実は、心理学者の研究結果によると自分自身と会話する人は、普通の人々よりも高い知能を持っているそうです。
アインシュタインは、よく自分自身と会話したそうです。
残念ながら私は、知能が高いわけではなく、年を取っているので時々、自分自身と会話するのです。

聖書の中によく自分自身と会話した人がいます。
それは、ダビデです。
詩篇の中で、彼は、9回も自分自身と会話しました。
彼は、自分自身にどんな事を話したのでしょうか。

「わがたましいよ。主をほめたたえよ。主の良くしてくださったことを何一つ忘れるな。」
詩篇103:2

「わがたましいよ。なぜ、おまえは絶望しているのか。なぜ、御前で思い乱れているのか。神を待ち望め。私はなおも神をほめたたえる。私の救い、私の神を。」
詩篇42:11

「私のたましいよ。主をほめたたえよ。」
詩篇146:1

クリスチャンの皆さん、私たちも、辛い状況に置かれている時、絶望せずに自分自身に同じようなことを会話しましょう。それは、高い知能とはならないかもしれませんが、強い信仰の証拠となります。

　　　 

A CONVERSATION WITH MYSELF　

When I could not find my cell phone, I had a good idea. I have a landline phone too, so I called myself. After finding my cell phone ringing in the bedroom, for a while I had a conversation with myself.

Holding my cell phone in my right hand and my landline phone in my left hand, I asked myself, “How are you?” I answered myself, “I am fine.” For about a minute I had a conversation with myself.

You probably think I am crazy, but it is not so. In fact, according to the results of research by psychologists, people who talk to themselves have a higher intellect than other people. They say that Einstein often talked to himself. I regret to say that I talk to myself not because my intellect is high but because I am getting old.

There is a person in the Bible who often talked to himself – David. In the Psalms David talks to himself nine times. What did David say to himself?

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits. (Psalm 103:2)

Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God. (Psalm 42:11)

Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul!
(Psalm 146:1)

Christians, when we are placed in difficult circumstances, instead of giving up hope, let’s speak the same kind of words to ourselves. It may not be the sign of high intelligence, but it will be the proof of strong faith.
