復活勝利

2015年に照ノ富士（大関）は、大相撲夏場所で優勝しました。
大衆は、彼が次の横綱になると思っていました。
しかし、その後、彼は糖尿病と肝炎となり、さらに両膝の手術を受け、しばらく休場が続きました。

それから彼は、相撲に復帰しましたが、力を発揮できなかったため、大関から序２段48枚目まで落ちました。
大関から番付を下げて、相撲を取り続けた力士は、過去にいません。

何度も引退を考えた彼は、少しずつ力を取り戻して、２年ぶりに幕内に戻って、7月場所の千秋楽で大衆を感動させる優勝を成し遂げました。
彼の優勝は【復活勝利】と呼ばれています。

確かに、照ノ富士の【復活勝利】は、印象的な勝利でしたが、もっと印象的な【復活勝利】があります。
それは、イエス・キリストの【復活勝利】です。
罪のないキリストは、不当な裁判を受けて、十字架につけられました。彼の死体は、墓に葬られました。

しかし、三日目にキリストは、よみがえられました。
「キリストは私たちの罪のために死なれ、葬られ、三日目によみがえられました。」Ⅰコリント人への手紙15:3-4
キリストは、墓に葬られ、死と闘って、見事な勝利を成し遂げられました。
Ⅰコリント人への手紙15:55に
「死よ。おまえの勝利はどこにあるのか。」と書いてあります。
そして、57節にキリストを信じるすべての人々の心からしに対するおそれを取り除く言葉があります。
「神に感謝すべきです。神様は私たちの主イエス・キリストによって私たちに勝利を与えてくださいました。」

「神は、ご自分の大きなあわれみのゆえに、イエス・キリストが死者の中からよみがえられたことによって、私たちを新しく生まれさせて、生ける望みを持つようにしてくださいました。」Ⅰペテロの手紙1:3

　　 

RESURRECTION VICTORY

In 2015 Ozeki Terunofuji won the summer sumo tournament. Everyone thought he would be the next Yokozuna (grand champion). However, after that, he contracted diabetes and hepatitis. In addition, he had surgery on both knees.

He returned to sumo, but he had lost his power, so he fell from the rank of Ozeki to Jonidan number 48. (For Americans who do not understand the sumo rankings, this is like the MVP of MLB falling all the way to a bench player in Class A.) No one had ever fallen that far in the rankings and continued to wrestle.

Many times he thought about quitting, but little-by-little he regained his power, and this year he re-entered makuuchi (the top division of sumo) for the first time in two years. On the last day of the July tournament, in a match that moved many to tears, he won the championship. His victory is being called the “resurrection victory”.

Certainly, the resurrection victory of Terunofuji was impressive, but there is a much more impressive resurrection victory. It is the resurrection victory of Jesus Christ. After receiving an unfair trial, Christ was crucified. His body was placed in a tomb.

However, on the third day, Christ arose. Christ died for our sins, He was buried, and He rose again the third day. (First Corinthians 15:3-4) Christ entered the tomb, fought with death, and won the victory. Therefore, in First Corinthians 15:55 it is written, O death, where is your victory? In verse 57 there are words that remove the fear of death from everyone who believes in Christ.
Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our lord Jesus Christ.
